'In the Middle of Everything' is a true reality movie by Dutch photographer Maurice Spees and shot with a hidden camera.

“The world is a stage for “reality” theatre, twist this reality a little bit using staged theater performers and capture it on (candid) camera. It's more easy…” – Maurice Spees.

This short film shot in 48 hours shows 1 day in the life of a young Thai woman who works in Bangkok to support her family back home. When she loses her job, an event changes her perspective….

Spees wanted to show with this film that it is possible to make a film with just a cameraman and an actress.

The filmmaker emphasizes that the film was shot with a hidden camera and that everything you see is real. There is only 1 actress in the film. All other persons are real. The situations are not staged either.

  • The film lasts 21 minutes and is subtitled in English.
  • Location: Bangkok – Thailand
  • Cast: Thiphawan Wannamahin
  • Directed by: Maurice Spees

Very beautifully realistically filmed. A story with a lot of truth in it. About it
hard city life in a big city and the pressures a young woman has to live with.

Good luck with your film career!

  2. Bart Brewer says up

    Gripping and at times heartbreaking.
