In Bangkok you can buy nice fashionable clothes for next to nothing. A T-shirt for €3 Jeans for €8 or a tailored suit for €100? Everything is possible! You can read some of them in this article tips and especially where you can buy cheap and nice clothes in Bangkok.

Thailand and especially Bangkok is a true shopper's paradise. In addition to the huge range of super-deluxe shops with fashion from all well-known fashion houses and hauto couture, bargain hunters can really let off steam. Whatever you are looking for, shirts, T-shirts, jeans, shoes, skirts, shorts, shoes, ties, lingerie, etc. nowhere else can you find so many cheap, good quality clothes.

A suit of the finest silk or a tailor-made suit, it's dirt cheap in the 'Land of Smiles'. If you are planning to complete your wardrobe with trendy fashion, then you should definitely be in Bangkok. A number of acquaintances of mine go to Thailand with an almost empty suitcase to fill the suitcase with clothing for laughable prices.

Where do you need to be? A few tips to stock up on cheap clothes:

  • Chatuchak Market– Also known as the JJ market, is the local weekend market in Bangkok. This huge market has more than 13.000 stalls! There is everything for sale and certainly cheap clothing. Here you will find about 1.000 stalls selling every kind of clothing imaginable. From T-shirts to trousers, skirts, sweaters and jackets. Both modern western clothing and traditional Thai clothing. You can even find unique fashion from young, local Thai designers. Duration? No, € 5 – € 10 per item of clothing. Location: Take the Skytrain to MoChit station and follow the masses. The market is open every weekend from Friday evening.
  • Mahboonrong Mall (MBK) – MBK Mall is one of the best places to buy cheap clothes in Bangkok. The shopping center has eight floors, you can choose from all kinds of clothing. In addition to designer clothes, you will find trendy fashion from local designers. On every floor you will find something different, such as traditional Thai clothing and T-shirts, short skirts, jeans, jackets, etc. On the ground floor, first, second and third floors, there are many small boutiques and shops that sell every imaginable clothing . On these floors you will find several cheap tailors. They make whatever you want. A skirt, suit, workwear, tailored suit, shirts and all at low prices. Location: MBK is near the National Stadium Skytrain station.
  • Siam square – Siam Square is the area near the local university. The many students who walk around here day and night have a limited budget. The prices are adjusted accordingly. But just like in the Netherlands, young people want the latest, hip, fashionable and affordable clothing. T-shirts, skirts, pants, shoes, tops, jeans whatever you're looking for, you'll find it here. Also walk into the alleys. Then you will discover trendy designer shops from young local Thai designers. And all at attractive prices. The only downside is that it is designed for Thai youth, who are small and petite. The chance that you will find a piece of clothing that fits well is therefore small, unless you have such a stature yourself. Location: Get off at the Siam Skytrain station. It is the area opposite the major shopping malls (Siam Discovery Mall, Siam Paragon, Siam Center etc.) there are always a lot of young Thais walking around and you can't miss it.
  • Boba Market – Bobae market is a fashion paradise. Clothes are really dirt cheap here, the only condition is that you buy batches (wholesale). That means at least three or four garments at a stall. Because it's so cheap, that won't be a problem. A T-shirt will cost you around €1. Bobae has a lot of choice of clothing, but it is a great place specifically for jeans, T-shirts, shirts, blouses, skirts, etc. Location: you can take the boat from Siam Square, a bit tricky to find or take a taxi.
  • Baiyoke Market – There is a huge market area near the Baiyoke Tower. In the Baiyoke Tower complex you will find hundreds of shops. Here too you are expected to purchase more than one item (it does not necessarily have to be two identical items of clothing). The prices are low and the textiles are of good quality. About half of what you would pay at Chatuchak. You can also buy larger sizes here. The Baiyoke market is ideal for those who are a bit taller and heavier. The clothing offered here is also destined for the European and American market. Location: Go to Chidlom BTS station and then take a taxi to Baiyoke. You can also walk there, but the many streets are a bit confusing. A taxi driver will take you there for about €1.
  • Shopping Mall Sales – Of course, Bangkok also has many Western shopping malls with thousands of clothing stores. Siam Paragon, Siam Discovery, Siam Center, Central World, Central Chidlom, Gaysorn Plaza, Emporium, Ladprao, Seacon Square and many more. Sometimes bargains can also be found here. Once a month there is a kind of sale. A visit to the large shopping centers can therefore be rewarding.

Remember that when you buy something at the market, the Thai expect the price to be negotiated. Sometimes it is so cheap that you just pay the asking price. You should know that yourself, but it is not the intention. The only place where you can't bargain are the large department stores and supermarkets. Even in the smaller stores, it is often possible to get a discount. Especially if you buy more clothes.

Bangkok, Thailand, is a paradise for cheap clothes. Make your move and purchase a complete wardrobe or buy nice clothes for prices that you can only dream of.

A quality tailored suit in Thailand is really not 100 euros, that's rubbish. Real brands are a lot more expensive than in the Netherlands.

Clothing in Thailand is cheap, yes. But only if you have a standard confection buddy. You can only buy beautiful shirts size xxl from the more expensive brands and in expensive stores. Shoe size 47 idem ditto. Bangkok has hundreds of shoe shops, size 44 is the mat.
