Thailand is big. That is why most travelers come more often to this beautiful country, which has a lot to offer. Nature, culture, history, delicious food, hospitable people, beautiful beaches and islands. But what is the best time to travel and what are the must sees and do's of Thailand?

Whether you come here for the first time or for the tenth time. There is plenty to discover in the land of smiles.

Best time to travel

Due to its size, Thailand is divided into three regions with three seasons. You have to be a bit lucky and sometimes you are unlucky, but in general the weather in Thailand is not bad easily.

The dry, warm period in the North is in March and April. Rainfall mainly falls from May to October. And a dry less warm period is usually between November and February.

In Central Thailand it is very hot from March to May. Perfect for day trips in the morning and relaxing by the pool or by the sea in the afternoon. The rainy season is from July to October where it is mostly cloudy with heavy rain showers every day. Usually it takes no more than an hour. In general, the period from November to February is the best time to travel. There is then less rain and it is less warm.

The Thai islands in the Gulf of Thailand have a more uniform climate. The rain here is more spread out throughout the year. But February to October are the most sunny and dry. The islands on the west coast are best visited from November to March. Do you want to visit both sides? Then we advise you to travel between December and April.

Where to start?

Are you going on holiday to Thailand for the first time? Then, in addition to the beautiful beaches, you also want to see the highlights. There are just so many of them that it is impossible to see everything at once if you also want to have a holiday feeling. With an individual tour at 333travel you already get a good picture of this country. You can expand and adjust the journey according to your wishes with the various building blocks.

Ayutthaya and Chiang Mai

Bangkok is of course an absolute must see. In this amazing city you can enjoy your days. For example, take a guided bicycle tour and get a good picture of the city and its different districts in a relatively short time. And get to know Thai cuisine in a fun way during a cooking workshop. That's a good start to your tour!
After a few days, take the train to Ayuttayah and take a tour of the most beautiful temples. You can do this by bicycle. It is even more fun to rent a tuk tuk with driver for a few hours for the ultimate Thailand feeling. In the evening you can take the night train to the north of Thailand. Chiang Mai is a frequently chosen destination and for good reason. The beautiful nature is close by and culture is also around the corner. Every Friday evening there is the famous night market that goes through a large part of the city. Truly an experience.

Khao sok

Khao Sok National Park

Touristy but fantastic to do is sleep on the reservoir of Khao Sok. With a longtail boat you will be taken to the floating houses where you will spend the night. On arrival you will go on a jungle tour and on your return you will be served a delicious Thai buffet. The next morning you sail back and you can continue your journey to the South for a few days on the beach on the mainland or on one of the tropical islands.

Hidden spots

Have you been to Thailand before or do you want to go off the beaten track? It is almost impossible not to meet tourists in this popular holiday destination. But the northeast of Thailand is much less touristy. For example, you can camp 'luxury' on the banks of the Mekong River and climb Thailand's 'Mount Fuji'. But a trip to Laos is also possible. During a two-day cruise on the Mekong River you will eventually arrive in Thailand again, from where you will continue your journey to Chiang Rai, for example, the slightly lesser-known sister of Chiang Mai. With a domestic flight you can end your holiday relaxed at the pristine beach of Khanom.

So much choice

The options above are just a few examples. As indicated; Thailand is big! And the possibilities are almost endless. But during one tour Thailand of two or three weeks you can get acquainted with the different regions and discover why you will come back next time for the continuation of your new favorite holiday country.

Rob Penders, always exciting, a new destination. It will undoubtedly be a great time!

The 'surprise' is a special event in Thailand, and usually in public in the villages. Feel free to walk behind the procession and see how people do it here compared to the somewhat formal ceremony that it is in the west.
