The Candle Festival in Ubon Ratchathani is one of the most famous events in Isaan and attracts many spectators from all over Thailand.

This traditional festival is a grand display of religious ceremony in Ubon Ratchathani. The event is held every year on Asalha Bucha Day and Khao Phansa Day. This day marks the beginning of the rainy season.

Especially the parade with dancers and floats attracts a lot of attention. The procession moves from the front of Wat Si Ubon Rattanaram along the road to Thung Si Muang. In the procession, women dressed in traditional costume carry a candle. There are also dancers and musicians in traditional dress who are part of the ceremony. The impressive exhibition of wax figures made by international artists from different countries is definitely worth a visit.

This year the event will be held on July 27 and 28
