Vietnamese man rescued who wanted to row from Thailand to India in an inflatable boat to see his wife
The Thai coastguard rescued a Vietnamese man on the high seas on Wednesday. He had left the Thai coast three weeks earlier in an inflatable boat to meet his wife in the Indian city of Mumbai, Thai PBS World reports. Due to a broken compass, the man was sailing in circles in Thai waters.
Thailand wants more Vietnamese guest workers
The Thai Ministry of Employment wants to bring more Vietnamese workers to Thailand. The current Vietnamese who now work here illegally must be provided with a work permit. Deputy Permanent Secretary Varanon is currently in Vietnam for consultations.
