Response to the responses to my question regarding reporting falsified pension information (reader submissions)
I appreciate the responses to my question. And I can generally share those reactions as well. I am not happy with this situation either. The people who react negatively are also not aware of all the facts.
Whether or not to report someone with falsified pension information (readers' submission)
I would like to say something about the article in which Louis wants to file a report against a Norwegian who is staying in Thailand with false pension details.
Where can you go to report a visa application with falsified pension information? I am aware of such a transaction by a Norwegian who is not yet receiving 30.000 baht monthly pension. He also hardly has any money in his bank account. On this basis, he is therefore not entitled to an annual visa. However, he appears to have received an annual visa with documents indicating a monthly pension of at least 65.000 baht.
Thailand's shocking world of counterfeits
Of course you already know, in Thailand many (brand) products are counterfeit and sold cheaper than the original product. It is obvious that you think in the first place of watches, (sports) clothing, women's bags and (sports) shoes. But the list of counterfeit products is much, much longer.
The head of the Immigration Police, Lieutenant General Sompong Chingduang, said that a 31-year-old American named Chad Vincent S. and his Thai wife Grace S., 34, have been arrested. The pair are accused of forging government documents and growing cannabis.
Thailand rewarded for dealing with counterfeit goods
Thailand has been removed from the Priority Watch List of IP offenders (intellectual property) by the US and is now on the Watchlist. The country is notorious for the many fakes of branded goods. Fake branded bags and watches are well-known examples of this.
Gang arrested for forging school certificates
Police have arrested four people from Surin and Ubon Ratchathani who sold about XNUMX fake school diplomas and certificates on the internet over the past two years. The fake diplomas were used for job applications at companies, because it is virtually impossible to check whether they are genuine.
A work of art on the wall
In the posting of December 6, it was mentioned that many counterfeit items were offered via Facebook. The Intellectual Property Department is trying to act against this by even closing accounts that offer this. But what about copied paintings?
In Thailand you stumble across the small studios where a painting is made from a photo or a picture. The quality varies from bad to very good. The Dutch artist Suus Suiker now also knows this and is very disappointed.
Fake passports in Thailand
The presence of two passengers with fake passports on board the mysteriously missing plane of Malayasian Airlines flight MH 370 has once again put Thailand in the spotlight as a center for (almost) authentic passport forgery.
