Reader question: Official translation of marriage booklet and passport?

Today I went to the Amphoe in Sanam Chaiket with my Thai wife to register at my wife's address. There are a few things that are strange to me here. They want an official translation of the marriage certificate there? Wouldn't know how to do that, isn't there an official document from the NL municipality for what should be sufficient, stamped by BuZa and the Thai embassy in The Hague and officially translated into Thai?
