I don't drive on Ratchadaphisek Road in Bangkok very often, but every time I have to be there I always think of what the area looked like about 25 years ago. The road was as it is now, but it lacked the gigantic buildings as it is now with colossal shopping malls, colossal hotels, colossal soapy massage houses and a bit too much of the colossal for my taste, but it will be (was) necessary.
