Until recently I could call people in Thailand very cheaply with the following numbers. (0900-1446 for 5 cents per minute and 0900-1761 for 7 cents per minute) but now I keep hearing this country cannot be called now. Besides WhatsApp (which I don't have because I have a senior telephone), are there any other telephone numbers that I can use?

We want to go to Thailand for 1 year, is it wise to cancel your mobile subscription here? And what is the best thing to do when you are in Thailand? Take out a subscription or buy a prepaid card or something else?

Until a few years ago I had a virtual fixed telephone number in the Netherlands that I used to call the Netherlands and more specifically to receive calls from the Netherlands (for example from my pension fund). That Dutch number was then forwarded via VoIP to my computer in Laos and from there forwarded to my mobile number there. This way I was easily and accessible for the Netherlands. I then paid € 10 per year.

My wife regularly calls her family in Thailand. At least she tries. For this she uses the so-called “cheap” 0900 numbers. Div, providers from 1 cent p/m. Unfortunately too often bad connections. Communication is very bad. I think it is intentionally wrong. So you have to call again and again.
