Thousands of Russian tourists stranded in Thailand
Thousands of Russian tourists in Thailand are reportedly struggling to find their way home. This is because international sanctions imposed because of the war between Russia and Ukraine have affected holidaymakers.
Facebook group for farang stranded abroad
It is a big problem that we have also paid attention to on Thailandblog, farang who are stranded abroad and cannot return to Thailand because of the entry ban. There is now a Facebook group with almost 3.400 members who are in the same boat.
About 10.000 foreign tourists are stranded on three Thai islands, including about 5.700 on Koh Samui. The islands were locked some time back due to the corona virus.
More and more Thai nationals stuck at foreign airports
At least 197 Thai nationals are detained at a number of foreign airports. They try to return to Thailand but are unsuccessful because the airport authority (CAAT) has banned all commercial passenger flights to Thailand until April 16.
