The introduction of the Mangmoom card, which is comparable to a public transport card, has been delayed by a month. On November 1, the card must work in Bangkok and the surrounding area.
Production problems delay distribution of Welfare card
More than 11,6 million minimum wage earners in Thailand receive assistance in the form of a Welfare card. The card comes with a monthly credit of 1.500 for bus, train and minibus. Distribution of the cards in Bangkok and six provinces has been delayed to October 17 due to technical limitations in production.
Public transport card for Bangkok operational from 1 October
The cabinet approved the public transport card with the name Mangmoom (Spin) on Tuesday. This card for public transport in and around Bangkok will come into use on October 1.

Those who travel by public transport in Bangkok will be amazed at the many different payment systems for a ticket. That will change from April this year with the introduction of a public transport card with the name: Mangmoom (which is Thai for spider, apparently like a spider in a web).
