Now that I live in Pattaya I don't have to miss this delicacy. In fact, the large green mussels that you buy or get served here are, in my opinion, even tastier than those in the Netherlands. We buy them at the fish market in Naklua for something like 25-30 Baht per kilo and my Thai wife cooks them with vegetables and beer.

As far as I know, Pattaya only has two small fishing ports. One is located at the very end of Jomtien and has now almost been swallowed up by the advancing new construction projects. The other harbor is just past the fish market of Naklua. A few of the fishermen established there practice mussel fishing.

Shellfish; good for you know

There is a mysterious atmosphere about oysters and also about the other shellfish regarding the influence on increasing the libido. The Spanish seducer Casanova is said to have consumed about 50 oysters a day.

This Friday, March 6, 2020, Babylon Pattaya is hosting a mussel feast. From about three o'clock in the afternoon there is a buffet with mainly mussels and Belgian fries, which visitors can enjoy while drinking their favorite drink, possibly in the company of one of the nice ladies present.
