I have a question regarding the surrender of an annuity from the Netherlands. I have accrued an annuity in the Netherlands and am curious if anyone has experience with buying this out.
I have to buy an annuity in 2016 from a single premium policy. I can no longer find a provider for that. My question: I have been in contact with the tax authorities about the unavailability of providers of annuity policies and an employee suggested bank savings with a blocked account. I should submit that question to the relevant department and they would assess it.
Rembrandt van Duijvenbode encountered a problem with his annuity policy. He wrote about it on Thailandblog in March and received 37 responses. In this post the outcome. "In the end, my annuity payment turned out okay and I'm going to enjoy it in Thailand."
Reader's question: Belastingdienst NL sees me as a foreigner because of my annuity payment
I am now 55 and my annuity is about to expire. Since I have been deregistered in the Netherlands and live in Thailand, I cannot renew these annuities. Now comes the weird. The tax authorities see me as a foreigner, now I can have it paid out, but then I pay 52 percent tax.
On June 15, my annuity will be released after 20 years of premium payment so that I can convert it into a periodic payment for at least five years. Hooray you will think, but unfortunately the opposite is the case and I end up from one problem to another.
