Went to GSB today and it was no problem to open a bank account there. Tomorrow I will close the bank account at the Krungsi bank and deposit the balance with GSB, so that I am still in time to meet the 2-month requirement for applying for a year extension.

Several times this blog site has discussed the exchange rate differences with an ATM withdrawal. Yesterday I was forced to withdraw from an ATM of the Kasikorn Bank. In the meantime I had discovered that the withdrawal costs of the Thai Banks had been increased to 220 baht, but that is not the point.
