My partner wants to come to the Netherlands and has now completed his integration, partly because of this the procedure has started to have him come to the Netherlands via the IND. A nice file has now been compiled, which is now at the IND. I have submitted all documents to the IND, according to a checklist, now they are asking for even more information, and it will take longer for both of us.

A person with fair skin, whether he/she is a tourist or lives here in Thailand, is called a farang. Where exactly the word comes from, let's leave it in the middle, but you can distinguish between a novice farang and a seasoned one.

Perhaps I will come up with a number of questions that have long been answered on Thailandblog. I only found my very special love in Thailand over a year and a half ago when I wasn't looking for it. She is not after Western money and became the surprising happiness in my life later in life. I like to read, and hopefully also young fellow sufferers, about the experiences of people who have already experienced the integration procedure themselves or from the sidelines.

My Thai girlfriend got her integration diploma from the DUO last week. Fortunately, this journey has been completed 😉 The only question is; what now? Nothing is in a rush for us. Only in the end we would like her to get a Dutch passport, together with her Thai passport. To get this done, we'll have to get married first. Then she can get both nationalities. This is right, right?

My Thai friend is almost done with her integration. She passed the participation statement and fortunately she also passed the 5 exams. She has worked exactly 6 months today (minimum 48 hours per month) so I'm going to apply for an exemption from ONA tomorrow. I'm sure I can figure out how that works. But my question now is; how then?

Does anyone know if my Thai wife has a civic integration requirement for Flanders/Belgium when we move there? My Thai wife and I want to move back to Antwerp. My wife is 55 years old and I am 64 years old. 20 years ago I moved to NL against my will because my wife did not get a tourist visa or residence permit for Belgium.

I have a question, the answer of which may be of interest to many Thai newcomers in the Netherlands. In 2020, things will change with regard to integration. The municipalities will take over much (or everything) from the DUO. I understand this will start on January 1, 2020.

More and more language schools that offer lessons for people integrating are committing fraud, the Social Affairs and Employment Inspectorate (SZW) reports. In a letter to the House of Representatives, Minister Koolmees states that language schools can easily abuse integrators who do not yet speak the language and who do not know their way around.

On 16/11 we can collect the residence permit and next week my partner's BSN number. So the DUO will soon register for the A2 integration course. I looked at a number of study options. Can fellow Thailand bloggers share their experience with me or offer any advice? The residential location is between Geldermalsen and Tiel.

My girlfriend is currently preparing for the basic integration exam. Every evening we call each other and read in the book 'Naar Nederland'. We are now looking for a school or teacher in Chiang Mai who can guide her for two hours a day. Concerns the end of 2018 and with a total duration of 4 or 5 weeks.

The integration policy is undergoing a drastic overhaul. The aim is for newcomers to start working immediately and learn the language in the meantime. Municipalities will draw up an individual integration plan for all people integrating. The loan system with which newcomers still purchase their integration course will also be abolished. Minister Koolmees writes this today in a letter to the House of Representatives about his plans for a new integration system.

Politicians have come to the conclusion that the current system of 'independent integration', which has been in force since 2013, is not working. Until the end of 2012, people integrating had to start their integration through the municipality, it now looks like The Hague will turn back the clock. How and what exactly is still unknown, next Monday Minister Wouter Koolmees of Social Affairs will present his new plans, but this is already being done in the corridors.

We recently had a party. A cozy get-together with Thai women and their Dutch partners. It was about anything and everything, a lot of chatter and above all a lot of fun. At one point I got into a conversation with an older woman, mid-50s and suddenly all Farang on the spot were called looters of the worst kind.

My girlfriend passed the basic integration exam at the embassy in Bangkok. I hope to get her to the Netherlands soon with an MVV. Here in the Netherlands, too, she must take another exam within three years to be able to stay permanently. My question is what does the school in the Netherlands cost for her?

My wife is busy completing the basic civic integration exam. She has now passed Knowledge of Dutch Society (KNS) and reading skills with a more than sufficient mark. Only the speaking skills exam causes problems. We practice a lot together but just don't want to succeed.
