I once asked here whether it was normal for people to thoroughly copy my passport when exchanging money, as this was not done everywhere. So yes, this was normal. However, there were some readers who mentioned that they cover a certain part of the passport. I assume that's at the bottom where there are some numbers. Correct me if this is incorrect.
