Bill on surrogacy in Thailand
Commercial surrogacy has been illegal in Thailand since 2015 after scandals emerged. 'Womb for rent...' was banned; Surrogacy is only allowed if it is under government control and is reserved for Thai-Thai couples and farang-Thai couples who have been married for at least three years.

Cambodia suddenly banned commercial surrogacy in November and did not provide a transitional arrangement. Surrogacy is not illegal in Thailand, but it is subject to strict rules.

The district of Lom Sak (Phetchabun), famous for its sweet tamarind, is the birthplace of (commercial) surrogate mothers, writes Bangkok Post today.
