Reader question: Debit card from Bangkok Bank and withdrawing money in the Netherlands
I have a debit card from Bangkok Bank. Now I'm going to the Netherlands soon and want to withdraw money with that card at the ATM. Is that possible and are there costs involved? What about the exchange rate because I have a Baht account?
Today I would like to pass on a small warning to a process here in Thailand that still annoys me a bit. I recently ordered an item from Lazada. A few hours later I received a message from Lazada that the order was canceled and my money was being returned. Now that's not the problem. But here in Thailand you don't get your money back that quickly. When buying via credit card, it can take up to 5 days before the money is back in your account. But do most people know that a refund via debit card can take up to 45 days? That's a damn long time.
