My wife sent a package (550 euros: equivalent value 22.000 baht) from NL with clothes/shoes/bags to her sister. Her sister had to come to the post office and was told to pay 8.800 baht. I talked to that postal worker and she mentioned 20% and 7%. I therefore did not even get to the question why these percentages were levied and a quick calculation (27% over 22.000) comes to about 5.500. This is quite a damper on the "festivities".

I wanted to pay with a Bangkok Bank debit card at the hospital, but they didn't accept it. Well, then the platinum card from ING, which I used to pay for the past few months. Now I had a bill of 17800 bht on Saturday, but she didn't want that either. A platinum credit card, but I couldn't pay with it?

My name is Harrie and I have been doing business with various companies in Bangkok for some time now. As soon as the order is ready, they will give me the amount including shipping costs via UPS, I will transfer that amount via PayPal and that works perfectly. Now I'm working with a company, and they don't understand PayPal or Western Union, they want the money in their Thai bank account.
