Question to GP Maarten: Ankle sprain and burning pain
This week I tripped in the garden, forcing tendons around the ankle joint. Yesterday at night I got pulsating burning pains on the inside of the ankle joint. they persist now. I take ibuprofen for the pain, but I wonder if that trip may have pinched nerve pathways.
Thick feet ankles when I'm in Thailand?
My problem is 'fat' feet or should I put it that way, when I go to Thailand I get swollen feet and ankles over the course of a few days. This has now happened to me personally three times in the 18 years I have been visiting Thailand.
I am healthy but my weak spot is my ankles. Every six months, sometimes a little earlier sometimes a little later, I get an attack, within 1 day my ankle joint starts to swell, becomes bright red and terribly painful as if they were stabbing knives. I can't move at all and the forced trip to the toilet is torture.
