The transfer option from the Airport Rail Link (the 'red' non-stop Express Line) to the metro will be improved. Work is underway on a pedestrian tunnel that will connect the two stations.

Travelers who used the Airport Rail link from Suvarnabhumi Airport and wanted to transfer from Makkasan to the MRT metro (Petchaburi stop) will have been surprised in the past. You arrive at Makkassan and then have to walk at least 500 meters over poor terrain and cross busy roads to transfer to the metro or vice versa. That is no fun in the rain or if you have a suitcase with you. This blunder is finally coming to an end.

When I was in Bangkok in April, I already saw that a covered Skywalk was being built, including escalators and an elevator, which should connect both stations. This creates a better connection for travelers and commuters between Lat Phrao / Ratchada / Asoke and the Silom area which is accessible by MRT. But also for the Phaya Thai / Ramkamhaeng / Suvarnabhumi route of the Airport Rail Link.
