On February 12, 2018, public hearings were held in Pattaya under the chairmanship of Deputy Mayor Vichien Pongpanit. On this occasion, the public could comment on the four-year development plan (2019 – 2022) of the city and the problems in the city that need to be solved.

While flooding and traffic have always been at the top of the public's priority list in previous hearings, Pattaya's current waste crisis and sewage leaks have emerged as the main concerns. Pattaya is struggling to deal with all the waste and residents are angry about the overflowing transfer sites in three districts, the backlog of more than 50 tons of waste on Koh Larn and ad hoc landfills that are springing up all over the region's roadsides.

The public's concerns about the environment, including the wastewater disposal that have polluted Pattaya beach, contrast sharply with the concerns of bureaucrats who suggested during their consultation last month that traffic, road accidents and drug use among young people are the main should be city priorities.

The public, of course, does not forget about the floods, claiming that it remains a major problem and criticizing the time it takes for city officials to resolve the problem permanently. Other concerns include electricity supply, cables and burglary.

All comments are merged with those from government agencies to create a final development plan upon which future budget requests will be based.

Not to mention the problem with the tour buses .
Yesterday another one rammed a large number of motorbikes to the scrap heap.

It seems that due to the increasing number of tourists from China, for example, the number of large tour buses that make their way through the small soi,s is becoming an increasing problem.
