While society has ground to a halt, activity still appears to exist in some areas. Police and traffic controllers are checking passersby on Sukhumvit Road.

It is remarkable that only the temperature is measured and no comment is made on not wearing a (mandatory) helmet! Apparently that was not in the list of assignments. In addition, questions about the destination and showing proof of identification. The Jomtien Beach is also checked by motorcycle police. Last week, 23 people were taken by vans to the Soi 9 police station for beach visit violations. Signs in both English and Thai indicate that this is prohibited.

In Soi 9, a side street of Thungklom Tanman (Soi 89), an agricultural area with cassava is being roughly plowed and excavated in a rigorous manner. The purpose is completely unclear. Perhaps, but that is speculation, this will become a more extensive golf course after the previous training area adjacent to it was demolished. Time will tell. Before that time, the agricultural area protruded more than a meter above the adjacent new road in a number of places. During heavy rainfall, part of the soil on the adjacent road and the new sewer system washed away, which led to problems.

But it is a sad sight to see a beautiful agricultural area turn into this desolate state.

Wearing a helmet or not was not in the list of assignments. Well, in most lists in Thailand assignments are missing and they are replaced by the most blurry assignments. Weird guys that Thai. Most don't even know what a helmet is let alone wear it at all or you see that the driver is not wearing a helmet and the person sitting on the back is or vice versa….
