Pattaya is getting a new pier. According to Ronakit Ekasingh, the city's deputy mayor, the new pier will cost 733 million baht and construction has already begun.

The pier will be located in South Pattaya at Laem Bali Hai, next to the current Bali Hai pier, where ferries depart for Koh Larn. The new pier will serve as a marina with space for up to 360 boats. There will also be a large car park for 400 cars.

According to the deputy mayor, the pier should also contribute to the regulation of current water traffic. For example, the speedboats to Koh Larn and the nearby islands are obliged to moor in the new marina instead of using the beach.

In addition, the municipality will also introduce a zone system for jet skis. This should contribute to more safety for tourists.

look at those are positive changes, I myself was, by a hair's breadth, a victim after a 16 year old girl lost control of her jet ski and came to a stop next to me on the beach at full speed
