Hua Hin, the seaside resort on the Gulf of Thailand, has been chosen by the visitors of Thailand blog as the best city to live. It ended up being a neck and neck race with Chiang Mai finishing in second place.

The seaside resort of Hua Hin is praised for its pleasant living and residential climate. Many western expats, pensioners and winter visitors have settled there. The small scale, friendly atmosphere and accessibility are important factors. Although the nightlife is less exuberant than in a number of other Thai cities, there is still plenty to do. Especially the many excellent (fish) restaurants, the cozy night market and the elongated beach appeal to many.

Unique atmosphere

Hua Hin is a popular tourist destination. Not only for Western tourists but also for the Thai. In the weekends it is pleasantly busy with Thai families who want to escape the hectic city life in Bangkok. Hua Hin is even the oldest seaside resort in Thailand. The Thai royal family has a palace where they like to stay. For over 80 years, Hua Hin has been a destination for Thailand's Royalty and high society. After all these years, the city still has a unique atmosphere and the charm of a fashionable destination. This already starts when you arrive at the historic train station. The seven world-class golf courses and the abundance of Spa and Wellness resorts contribute to the fact that tourists from the higher segment also feel at home in Hua Hin. The annual International Jazz Festival attracts music lovers from all over the world. Hua Hin is authentic, offers many entertainment options and is therefore a real top destination for both tourists and expats.

I believe someone bought votes. There should be a commission of inquiry and the poll should be declared invalid. May happen to favor Hua Hin to realize the future way by sea. That saves a lot of time in commuting. Also the future high-speed line to Pataya, which is a prestige object, will come, which will make Pataya more attractive. Chores for Walter Bau, maybe.

    • @ Good idea Hank. I received a nice donation for the result of this poll, plus a car and a villa in Hua Hin worth several million with a sea view. May be because I voted for Hua Hin 75 times 😉

Now I understand why that apartment in Hua Hin is for sale.!!!!!

        • Yes, too bad there is also 1 in Jomtien, otherwise it would have been a fun joke 😉

LOL. I spent the whole time clearing cookies and using an IP hider to surf to the website every time with a different IP address to vote.

One of the editors of this blog lives in Hua Hin, right? Thailand has always been a colored country, right 🙂 Should be possible.

      • @ are you also a corrupt Thalandganger? And the expats whine about Thai. Where is the world supposed to go 😉

From me Hua Hin can end in the lower regions. At least it's quiet here.

Was in Hua Hin in December 2002 with my family, I thought in Royal Princess.
This is more of an area where one can love this beautiful country like eating fish in Pak Nai. At the Sirikit reservoir you can relax on the beach in Krabi, for example.
Experienced a Christmas dinner in 2003. beautiful salmon stuffed duck, beautifully presented fish dishes, beautifully presented salad dishes, etc. a large stage performances by Thai dance and singing groups. And games for the Farang. But what happened was about 14 to 17 guests. Stupid tourists came very loudly in shorts with a big belly on it, tattoos on T-shirts with stupid slogans and a lot of fake gold. Too bad there were some fellow citizens there, fortunately not well-known Rotterdammers, but they were rude, so they snapped at the employees after they had plundered the food bowls, sorry, but I understand that the Thais are not really happy with these Neanderthals.
so I must say this Ruud-Rotterdam otherwise you will go over that other ruud again.

    Well, tastes differ.
You will never meet me there again, far too many farang, tents with farang owners, girly bars are also advancing, and that monstrous Hilton stuff almost threw me off my neck
But if that's your thing, definitely do it,, ′′ cozy ′′ among each other.
Chaam (1 village earlier) used to be great, but unfortunately it is going in the same direction…….
