Tough times for the bar

It is bad and angry for the bars in Pattaya. Walking through SinCity would make you depressed. The photos on this page (Second road) speak volumes. This statue can be seen all over South Pattaya. It is even special that some bar complexes are still there because the bulldozer is unrelenting. These annoying pimples are expressed during the corona crisis.

For some, the bar complexes are a resurrection of "Sodom and Gemorrah," where women of easy virtue offer their services in exchange for hard currency. They will undoubtedly be happy with this clear cut. For others it is a safe haven where you can drink a beer, whether or not in the company of a lady who gives you some attention and goes with you to your hotel, for a good conversation or something else. The men in the bar not only fuel alcohol but also self-confidence, they hear so often that they are a 'handsome man' that they have come to believe it. These are tough days for them.

Is it just doom and gloom? No, Soi Buakhao is as usual. Very carefully, a number of small bars open on the left and right. At Central Festival the bars are open and it is quite busy there.

You can even go to Walking Street again, there are a few clubs open there (including The Stones House and Lucifer) where there is also enough audience for a party. As always, the strong survive.

For 2022, things initially looked good for Pattaya with the Test&Go program, until Omicron came to ruin the atmosphere. Now we have to wait and see how the new year will develop in terms of tourism.

For the time being, these are still tough times for the bar.

Yesterday there were even some Go-go bars half open. It currently depends a lot on where you are. Many bars are now also open in Jomtien. Soi Bukhao is even very busy at the moment.

I think it could go either way. If people have been left hungry for a long time, the discharge could be very large. Just think of the roaring twenties.

Many of those bars are architecturally or design-wise and are completely redecorated within 2 days and operational if necessary. When masses of enthusiasts come again soon, they will rise from the ground like mushrooms.

Now the connoisseurs have known for some time that the hard bar life is gradually moving more to the so-called Dark Side of Pattaya. More away from the sight of the happy family tourist.

Why do you always talk about Pattaya but never about naklua, pratamnak and of course JOMTIEN with the one and only gay scene bars. And at least 3 completely new ones. John

“where women of easy virtue offer their services”

Ha, ha, it can finally be said that the Thai Police has finally acknowledged today that prostitution is taking place.
But I don't make you happy with a dead sparrow, those police are going to crack down on this phenomenon, TIT.

See the article today in “Asia-Now”

I am also such a handsome guy who frequented these bars for a good conversation.

After a beer or 20 it becomes a good conversation.

I think there were already too many bars. Only this is a very crude way to reduce this. The bars were already moving towards soi Buakaw anyway. Perhaps also towards the Dark Side, but in my opinion mainly expats come there. Although the number of tourists had been rising in recent years before corona, it was mainly tourists from countries that did not visit the bars. Walking Street became a real walking street, but the bars such as Simon 1 and Simon 2 were hardly visited.
