For golf enthusiasts there are plenty of opportunities in the vicinity of Pattaya, but also in the rest of Thailand. The greens and fairways are perfectly laid out with prominent use of water features.

In total there are 20 golf courses in the wider area of Pattaya designed by the best architects in this field. With excellent facilities that can withstand any international comparison.

Golf in Thailand is almost always played with your own personal caddy, who can assist visitors with advice and assistance. Within a rough triangle of Si Racha – Sattahip and roads 231 and 3241 we list a few parks with telephone numbers:

  • Burapha Golf Club with 36 holes, telephone number: 085-288 8226-7
  • Laem Chabang 27 holes, telephone number: 038-372 273
  • Phoenix Country Club 27 holes, telephone number: 038-239 400
  • Plutaluang 36 holes, telephone number: 080-209 9175
  • Siam Country Club-old 18 holes, telephone number: 038- 909 700
  • Siam Plantation 18 holes, telephone number: 038-909 600

Golf courses in Thailand are almost all public and are known for their high quality facilities and great hospitality of the staff. Several golf courses also offer accommodation and often have excellent facilities such as swimming pools, sauna, jacuzzi, massages and restaurants.

This also makes a golf trip to Thailand ideal for non-golfing travel companions. There are also many luxury resorts in Thailand that have their own golf course. It should be clear from the foregoing that many special golf trips to Thailand are offered.

Not to forget Cha am and Hua hin, you will stumble over the golf courses there. Royal Hua hin, right behind the train station, is Thailand's first golf course, opened in 1, I believe. Many golf clubs without a course where you can become a member for THB 1926 - 1000 per year and play a mutual match every week. I call it A HEALTHY ADDICTION. Sports Day is often on Monday or Friday and you can play 1500 holes for a fraction of the already low green fee. Don't forget to tip the caddy, for a par thb.18 or thb.20 for a birdie. I read far too little on the Thailand blog about golf in Thailand, a great hobby for an expat, better and healthier than eating the first Chang of the day at 50 am, I think.

    Dear Alex
I know of the existence of a “courseless golf club” in Pattaya, but I don't know of any in the Hua Hin/Cha-Am region. If you or anyone else can help me with this, please...
Golfing in Hua Hin and surrounding areas is quite expensive or you have to go further afield, where there are also beautiful courses with reasonable green fees. I think of Royal Ratchaburi.

Indeed, around Ratchaburi there are a number of golf courses that have very reasonable prices. But unfortunately a bit far from Hua hin.

The secretary is an Aussie David Watson and the rest of the board consists of Scandinavians and a Swiss and 4-5 Dutch people who live there permanently are also members. I pay an average of thb.1700,= for a round and thb.300,= caddy tip. thb.2000,=

Years ago I did business (travel business) with a Norwegian who lives in Cha Am and since I started playing golf I found out that he did that too. golftrips-cha-am.com ROGEIR HEIMSTED. You can also book trips with him, a relaxed person

        Dear Alex Thanks.

        Thanks again Jan Willem.

I golf on average 8 weeks a year almost every weekday in Thailand. that's about 40 days of golf. Not bad for a tourist. No I don't live there but I'm there regularly.

In the vicinity of Pattaya you golf much cheaper than near Hua Hin. That quickly saves 1000 to 2000 baht per round of golf. At Pattaya there are several jobs that charge only +/- 1000 baht for Greenfee, caddiefee and cart during the entire low season, May to October. Spot cheap.

Join a golf club/sports bar and transport is arranged and you play with other people. Super cozy.

For more information about where the societies are, I refer to the link.

Unfortunately, to my knowledge there are no open golf societies in Hua Hin and the surrounding area.

Another tip: Hua Hin has a golf festival in August and September. Then you can play on most courses for a very reasonable rate. The same goes for Chiang Mai in May and June.

Thailand is the best and most beautiful country in the world to play golf.
I have visited many countries to play golf but nowhere in the world can you find this luxury and service.
    The advantages at a glance.
The prices are very competitive with other beautiful places around the world.
You always have to play with a caddy, not a know-it-all man who will explain it to you, but a friendly lady who helps you where needed.
After every 3 or 4 holes there is a stand where you can buy fresh drinks and something to eat at very democratic prices. Nowhere else can you find this luxury
And if you go in the winter period you are sure of good weather.
You definitely need 3 things to build and maintain beautiful and good golf courses.
That is, lots of water, high temperature and cheap staff.
That's all there is in Thailand

I would say, if you don't play golf yet, start soon, it's a healthy addiction
    Especially in Thailand

    Succes

      josh,

First of all, you are absolutely right with your observation that Thailand is a very suitable golf location. Underrated by many. Unfortunately, many Dutch people think mainly of the sex industry in Thailand and golf is virtually unknown.

What are reasonable prices at the stand/kiosk on the golf course? I assume you mean reasonable prices. 50ct for a bottle of water. about a euro for a soft drink and +/-1.50 for a beer. Or something. Of course, it differs per job.

You write about know-it-all men versus friendly ladies. I have news for you There are also many male caddies in Thailand. Not every job has them but I've come across them often. The men are often the best caddies. Not knowledgable but very knowledgeable. They often play golf themselves and often better than the players they caddy for. I have also experienced know-it-alls with a female Thai caddy.

Also nice, but just outside Kanchanaburi is a golf course with bungalows where there are great offers until October with 18 holes of golf on day 1, overnight +ABF, 18 holes of golf on day 2 and free 1 hour massage for thb.1800, = all- on weekends and thb. 1500,= a week. MIDA GOLFCLUB are also on FB.

Easy to do from Cha Am or Hua Hin in a 3-4 hour drive and a different environment that is often only 1-2 nights on the program during a Thailand tour, but is a very beautiful province to visit for longer.

This and previous information really helped me further .
The option, two days of golf with an overnight stay ++ at Royal Ratchaburi seems like a great offer
