Located in Phetchabun, Thailand, Si Thep Historical Park is a site rich in ancient history and architectural gems.

Originally known as Mueang AphaiSali, this historic site dates back to the prosperous era of the Khmer Empire, meaning it is over a thousand years old. Characteristic of the park are the imposing canal and hill with ponds, swamps and countless historical sights waiting to be explored.

The Si Thep Historical Park has two information centers: an old center and a new center. They are the gateway to the park's rich history and archaeology, where ancient artefacts are on display and changing exhibits transport visitors into the area's fascinating past.

A notable structure in the park is the Prang Song Phi Nong Tower. Built in the Khmer style and dating from the 11th or 12th century, this tower represents the grandeur of the Angkor Wat period.

At the center of the city is the Khao Klang Nai Ancient Monument, which is older than many other structures in the region, dating from the 6th or 7th century. The base is decorated with stucco statues depicting both people and animals, crafted in the Dvaravati style.

In the western part of the park is the sacred Chaopho Si Thep Shrine, where an annual worship ceremony takes place. This shrine has deep cultural and spiritual significance.

Visitors are welcome at Si Thep Historical Park daily from 8:00 AM to 16:30 PM. This gives adventurers and history buffs alike ample opportunity to explore the rich heritage and stunning architecture of this historic site.

The origins of Si Thep go back much further than the Khmer era. This ancient city dates back to the Dvaravati period (6th – 11th century).
