Bangkok has yet another luxury shopping center, which is fortunate, because there was already so little choice... Emsphere opened its doors on December 1, 2023.

This new addition to the city's retail landscape is part of The Mall Group's extensive Em District, which already includes two of Thailand's largest shopping centers, the Emporium and Emquartier. Emsphere is located on Sukhumvit Road, close to the BTS Phrom Phong station, a prime location in Bangkok's overwhelming shopping district.

The opening of Emsphere was an important event, marked by the presence of the first runner-up of Miss Universe 2023 and the launch of a new Ikea store (now the fourth store of the Swedish home furnishings store).

The new mall represents the completion of a 30 billion baht retail district, which Emsphere itself cost around 20 billion baht to develop. It's not just any mall; it is a symbol of prestige and the continued expansion of Bangkok's luxury retail and economy.

The design and atmosphere of the shopping center reflect its modern and luxurious character, offering shoppers a special experience. As part of the Em District, Emsphere will help complete a significant retail and lifestyle precinct in Bangkok, which is expected to attract both local shoppers and international tourists. This further contributes to the city's reputation as a global shopping destination.

I have visited all kinds of shopping malls in Bangkok many times and am always amazed that there are remarkably few people walking around during the day.

The offer is also not surprising. It is always the large retail chains that set up their branches there. Another big mall? And I hear from my wife that another one is under construction.

We live half an hour's drive from BKK so we need the car. What I find annoying is that there are no parking spaces on the outskirts of the city where you can park your car. Then you can at least continue your journey by public transport. That is never thought about. Now we usually visit Mega Bagna which is easy to reach.

I think those mega shopping stables are terrible. Why? Firstly what Frans writes. Always the same thing again
those larger retail chains, because they can pay the rent. Then the logistics in many malls have completely escaped me. Because of all those escalators, orientation is a major problem and there are often those annex areas on various floors that make you deviate completely from the 'path'. Add to that all those dozens of kiosks for telephones and accessories along the walking paths and so on.
You will only find me there in very special cases.
    Greeting.
