"Have you got a fire for me?"

The Thai department of the advertising agency Ogilvy has come up with a new anti-smoking commercial. In it, children ask smoking adults for a light, who are visibly surprised to discourage the children from ever starting the habit. Some with cigarettes still between their fingers.

Most smokers know that cigarettes are bad for them, but they continue to smoke. For the sake of convenience, they forget the harmful consequences for a while, but do advise against the unhealthy activity for novice smokers. And the latter is the power of a new anti-smoking campaign Thailand.

Beautiful and compelling anti-smoking advertisement, of which I have now also placed a link on my quit smoking website http://www.stoprokenweb.nl

Smoking is bad for health. The whole family suffers from this. You better teach them to drink alcohol. That is health and the whole family enjoys your behavior when you are drunk. And in traffic you are also a hero.

Too bad, since the user has removed the video from YouTube
    Better luck next time.

I always wonder how far this works? You probably know the “horror” on the cigarette packs here in Thailand. It doesn't bother me when I see it, but I think some people are quite shocked when they see a bog corpse with a hole in the throat or whatever. But how many stop here if they don't want to stop at all?

I haven't smoked for years, wait for a good moment and it's not hard. Like I had already stopped when I was not allowed to leave my hospital bed. Smoking is not allowed in the room (doh).

Quit smoking? Don't light it! Simple 🙂

Smoking helps against stress is nonsense, that's those few minutes, after an hour you come back to your stress more and more weakened and you get further and further out of "harmony".

    The video is still here:

And then I'll just write this underneath because otherwise my response would be too short 🙂

I stopped smoking 3 years ago because I have diabetes.
The point was that I lost feeling in 4 toes, and if I didn't stop soon it would go further very quickly.
The mere thought of smoking up my legs quickly gave me the strength to quit after 50 years of smoking a pack of heavy tobacco.
Sat down and waited for the pain and withdrawal to start, strangely enough that didn't happen at all, it went without any problems.
3 months later I stopped drinking in the same way.
