Note: At this moment you can NOT change your flight to an earlier date. If you change your flight, your Thailand Pass will become invalid.

The CCSA will meet on Wednesday to discuss the new Thailand Pass rules. The final decision will be made on Friday.

Those will be another exciting few days. I am flying the 28th under Phuket Sandbox scheme. Flight ticket, visa and Thailand Pass all already in the pocket.

  2. Janet says up

I have a flight to Thailand on January 11 (arrival BBK January 12).
Everything already arranged with Thailand pass, extra insurance in Thailand, visa, hotel etc.
(Besides my ticket also a lot of work and extra costs)
And now it wouldn't continue. What a disappointment 🙁

    • Rob says up

Yes Janet, it would be really outrageous if they invalidated Thailand passes already granted, then they completely ignore all the work extra costs and arrangements that people have had to do.
My Thai wife alone had to do everything she could to get 6 weeks off.

I understand that they have put new applications on hold for the time being, but all those who have passed the ThailandPass test and go when they arrive meet all requirements, have been vaccinated, have been boosted, have a negative CPR test, otherwise you will not be allowed on the plane, go testing again in Thailand and at least i day in quarantine have insurance, so what more do they want.
I don't think that 10.000 people or more will arrive per day and therefore quite manageable.
So yes wait and see again, unfortunately!!!!!

    • Jan S. says up

If I understand correctly, your Test and Go will probably not take place and you have to
      quarantine you for 7 days.

    • Peter Hieronymus says up

my flight is Jan 10, arrival thai time in BKK Jan 11
all settled. Strictly speaking, I arrive too late to enter Thailand with Thailand Pass arrangement
nml January 11, but journey started on January 10.
Is there anyone who knows more about this?
      Peter Hieronymus.

      • Cornelis says up

        Just in the Bangkok Post:
'Government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said on Tuesday air travelers who had successfully applied for Test & Go can enter the country by next Monday.'

        https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2241983/suspension-of-test-go-continues-amid-omicron-spike

So: arrive no later than Monday the 10th if you still want to use Test & Go.

      • Koen van den Heuvel says up

        Hello Peter,

        I will pray for you.
As Maarten wrote below, you still fall under the old Test&Go program, and hopefully that will not be changed. Because you already have your Thailand Pass in your pocket, don't you?
Good luck and keep me posted.
        Valorous

    • January says up

      Janet ,

if you have arranged everything properly and have obtained the Thailand pass with all dates of outward flight and return flight, then your pass is valid and you can just go,

first read carefully what it says, once you have obtained the pass you can no longer change the flight date, then it no longer applies, that is what it says.

    • Eric N says up

      Hi Janet,

maybe we would be on the same plane to BKK. KLM??? We would also visit Jan 12 next week. to land. This after our flight had already been rescheduled 1x from Oct 1, 21 to Jan 4, 22. Very sour.

It would help if we could 'just' use our flight and book an additional flight to Phuket.

I don't think that's allowed, but has anyone found out if there are any exceptions, or if this is allowed?

  3. Jan says up

I was just about to move my flight for 3 days so that I would still be in Thailand on the 10th. That is not possible and so everything falls into the water. Thank you Thai government.

    • John P. says up

In your case I would contact the Thai embassy in the Netherlands. Maybe they understand your situation and will make an exception. Anything for your girl right? I arrived in Phuket on October 29 and now live with my Thai in Bangkok as long as my visa is valid

      • Cornelis says up

It does not seem likely to me that local Embassies have/will have the space to allow such exceptions. In any case, they have nothing to do with the Thailand Pass procedure.

  4. Jan says up

If it is the case that you can no longer come under the 10 day arrangement after the 1th, then it's a shame for me I leave on the 20th with arrival on the 21st.
Can they just give clarity for me but also for my girl who is only worried now.

  5. sander says up

we fly 10 January and arrive 11 these will be exciting days again

  6. Willem says up

It is not allowed to advance the flight with a valid Thai Pass in order to land before January 10. Since the end of December, the 72-hour "window" for flight changes is only within 72 hours of the scheduled departure.

In my opinion, people who have a valid Thai Pass for Phuket Sandbox or an ASQ stay should not worry. This is not in dispute. People don't want to accept test & go right now. That's it!

  7. Maarten says up

I fly to BKK on the 13th under the Test & Go program. I contacted the Thai Embassy in The Hague 2 weeks ago -after the 1st announcement- by email and they have informed us in writing that arrival on the 14th under the old T&G program is fine if you already have a Thai Pass.
So I assume (for now) that there will be no policy changes this week. The aforementioned date of the 10th appearance, turned out to be incorrect for completed T&G procedures anyway

    • sander says up

can you post that letter here without name and address

      • Maarten says up

It is not a letter, but a reply to my email stating that I will be flying on January 13. The answer is as follows : ” The approved Thailand pass is still valid to enter Thailand ”
I don't think that leaves much to be desired.

        • siam says up

At that time that was also true, but now new measures are emerging and your thailand pass may no longer be valid after the 10th. It's not all certain yet, you'll hear that on Friday.

      • Cornelis says up

Don't expect that email to entitle you to an exception.

    • Willem says up

That statement is not a guarantee. They change everything and take no responsibility. It's no use to you

      • Cornelis says up

Exactly, William! The Thai government is completely unreliable in this!
Indeed, if January 10 is introduced as the 'deadline', a large number of people worldwide will be duped with already paid tickets, hotel and test reservations, insurance, etc., of which it remains to be seen whether they can get their money back.
The Thai authorities do not need a course on 'how do I kill my reputation'….

        • Peter (editor) says up

The problem is that tourists have a rather short memory. So they keep coming.

  8. Frank B. says up

Yesterday I already said that we will in principle leave next Sunday with Qatar and will therefore arrive in BKK on January 10 around 12:30 pm.
So we are very upset with that deadline of 10 January. So can you arrive in Bangkok on that day or is January 9 the latest arrival date??? I keep brooding over this. Also seen the article above as well as the articles in the Bangkok Post, The Nation and the Thaiger. Nowhere is it completely clear

This afternoon I was at the Thai Embassy to collect some legalized documents to register our marriage in Thailand. I asked the same question to the employee on duty. He told me that the latest arrival date would be January 10 if we already have an approved Thailand Pass.

That uncertainty is killer. Especially since we probably only really know for sure whether we can go in the next 2 days or so, while we would fly on Sunday and therefore also have to do the PCR test here.

    • Cornelis says up

The quoted text from the Bangkok Post article – see my earlier response of 15.04 pm – is clear: you can still enter on January 10, according to the government spokesman.

    • UbonRome says up

As described above there Cornelis at 15:04

      Source Bankok post
      https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2241983/suspension-of-test-go-continues-amid-omicron-spike

so would be no problem to be able to arrive until midnight from monday 10 to tuesday 11 if thailand pass was issued before that date.

      Regards,
      Erik

  9. Ronald says up

Just received a call from the reception that we have been tested negative and free to go.
Just hats off to how things are arranged here.
Have never come through the Duane so quickly as now and a good reception.
Although the journey started less pleasant for us.
Rebooked from Swissair to Lufthansa due to a delay of 2 hours and 22.00 to BKK instead of 13.10
Really hope for those who, like us, have had to make so much effort can still continue the journey.
Knowledge of mine also planned the 11th and Thailandpass.
    So thumbs up

  10. Frits says up

if you scan the q code of your Thai pass you will see status valid
ARRIVAL DATE NO LATER THAN 2022-01-10

    I think that's clear.

    • lessonram says up

      Nope I'm still standing there

      Status APPROVED
Arrival date no later than 2022-01-17

But assume that this will certainly change after Friday or is simply no longer valid, although it is still there.
You can't do more than wait for it to be officially announced on Friday to get clarity.

    • French Patays says up

In response to your message, I also scanned my Thailandpas QR code.
I had requested this with arrival date 10-01-2022.
The details of the pass state: “Arrival date no later than 2022-01-13”.
The difference is probably in the 72 hours of slack they give. (So arrive 72 hours later, not earlier!)

  11. Frenk says up

Dear people, just now in the KLM app, flight 14 Jan cancelled, also from friend departure 8 Jan, and 10 Jan… it's done

    • Maarten says up

My KLM flight on the 13th has not been cancelled

      • siam says up

Nothing has been officially decided yet, so that could still happen
