Those who want to travel to Thailand from November 1, 2021 must first register at https://tp.consular.go.th/ to receive the Thailand Pass QR code.

Once registered and approved, you will receive a Thailand Pass QR code. This QR code can be printed or placed on your smartphone and ensures that you do not have to show all kinds of documents upon arrival at the airport.

An earlier test at the airport showed that it should be possible to get into the taxi from your SHA plus or AQ hotel within half an hour of arrival at the airport with the Thailand Pass QR code.

To register the Thailand Pass you must have the following documents ready:

  • Copy passport.
  • Copy of vaccination certificate (provide the international QR code https://coronacheck.nl/nl/print/ ).
  • Medical insurance (minimum USD 50.000 coverage).
  • Confirmed and paid AQ hotel booking or SHA+ hotel booking for 1 night.
  • Possibly a copy of a visa or re-entry (if you want to stay longer than 30 days).

 – FAQ about QR code Thailand Pass –

Below you can read frequently asked questions and answers about the Thailand Pass QR code.

Why is there a Thailand Pass and why do I have to apply for it online?
You can travel to Thailand without quarantine if you are fully vaccinated and insured for medical costs. The Thai authorities want to be able to check that in advance and that is what the Thailand Pass is for. This should make it easier for travelers to travel to Thailand under the current restrictions.

So I have to apply for the Thailand Pass online? How does that work?
Visit the Thai government website https://tp.consular.go.th/ and complete the registration process there. Make sure you have the following copies at hand: copy of passport, copy of vaccination certificate (make sure you have the international QR code https://coronacheck.nl/nl/print/ ), medical insurance (minimum USD 50.000 coverage) and the confirmed and paid AQ hotel booking or SHA+ hotel booking for 1 night. After registration you will receive a confirmation by e-mail (do not use a Hotmail address because then it will not arrive). A little later you will receive a QR code, which you need for the check at the airport in Bangkok.

How far in advance should I apply for a Thailand Pass?
There is no time limit. If you want, you can already apply for your Thailand Pass for your holiday in January next year. You don't have to worry about being late or worrying about whether the QR code will arrive on time.

How do I get a Thailand Pass QR code?
Visit the Thai government website https://tp.consular.go.th/ and complete the registration process there. For the rest, read above.

I can't get to the screen 'Compliance with disease prevention measures of the Government of Thailand' the button doesn't seem to work?
You must first check the box at the bottom that you agree, which is rather difficult to see.

I am unable to upload the requested documents?
Make sure your file is not too large (no larger than 5MB).

What should I fill in for the question about my length of stay?
The number of days you stay in Thailand, for example 30 days. Expats who stay in Thailand for an indefinite period can enter '999' there, a special field for expats will soon be available.

How long does the Thailand Pass approval process take?
Applicants must submit their registration at least 3 days before the intended date of travel. Provide the international QR code of your vaccination certificate, which will speed up the process. If you provide everything correctly, your application can even be automatically approved and you will receive your QR code the same day.

Can I check Thailand Pass QR code status?
Yes, that's possible. Go to: https://tp.consular.go.th/ and click on the button: 'Check your status'. There you have to enter:

  • Your access code
  • Passport Number
  • Email

Obviously, this is only possible after you have already completed the registration process.

Can I download the QR code myself?
Yes, you can do this by logging in as described above under Check status.

My flight has been changed to another date, what now?
You can use your existing QR code if the arrival is within 72 hours of the QR code's original date.

What is a valid vaccination certificate?
An EU DCC or any other document that shows details of the 1st vaccination, e.g. registration card issued by GGD, details of coronacheck.nl, pages of the yellow vaccination booklet with owner's name and vaccine details, etc. Provide the international QR code of your vaccination certificate, which speeds up the process ((provide the international QR code https://coronacheck.nl/nl/print/).

Can I change my travel date after registering and receiving my QR code?
No. If you want to change the travel date or other details, you must register again for the Thailand Pass QR code

I am traveling with my family or group, can I submit one application for the whole family/group?
No, for the exemption from the quarantine regime, everyone aged 12 years or older must submit an individual registration through Thailand Pass. Only children under the age of 12 can be added to their parent's registration under the "Personal Information" section.

Do I need to register with Thailand Pass if I plan to travel to Thailand by land or sea?
No. Currently, the Thailand Pass is only for those who plan to travel to Thailand by air. Passengers planning to arrive by land or sea should contact the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate in your country. The relevant authorities are still considering expanding the registration system for passengers who intend to travel to Thailand by land and sea, but it is not yet known when this will take place.

Do I also have to upload my COVID-19 test result (RT-PCR) at the Thailand Pass registration?
No. You must show your negative COVID-19 test result (RT-PCR) to the officials at the airport. Please note: NOT providing your COVID-19 test result may result in denial of entry to Thailand. Please note that your test result must be a hard copy or hard copy and only in Thai or English language.

Does my medical insurance need to be COVID-19 insurance to register for the Thailand Pass?
No. You can also use basic insurance or health insurance with a minimum coverage of USD 50.000. Read more about the insurance requirements: https://www.thailandblog.nl/van-de-redactie/verzekering-van-50-000-dollar-voor-de-thailand-pass-faq/

I have not received a confirmation e-mail?
Did you enter your email address correctly? Have you looked in your spam folder? Is your e-mail box sometimes full? If you have a hotmail account, it is better to also provide a different e-mail address.

How can I show my QR code if I don't have a mobile phone?
If you do not have a mobile phone with the QR code with you, you can print the paper version of the QR code and bring it with you to show it to the officials at the airport. In that case, you can register with Thailand Pass on your PC and then print the QR code on paper.

I am a computer illiterate, I will not be able to do this, what now?
Engage a visa agency, for example: https://visaservicedesk.com/ they arrange, for a fee, a Thailand Pass in addition to your visa.

Where can I go for questions?
If you have any questions, you can contact the call center of the Consular Affairs Service, Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 02 572 8442, which has deployed 30 extra lines for this purpose.

I urgently need to go to Thailand, what to do?
Please contact the Thai Embassy.

After choosing the plan you want, in my case quarantine exemption and having selected it, you will be taken to the next page “Compliance with Government of Thailand Disease Prevention Measures”.

The button to confirm that you have read, grabbed and accepted the information is not working??
So you cannot sign up for the Thailand Pass.

Currently using as browser Microsoft Edge and Firefox

So you will not be happy about this.

For people who have trouble converting a pdf to jpg, I know 2 free options:
    1. Print your document, but do not select your printer but "print to pdf". This was also indicated above.

    2. Download the freeware program “screenhunter” on your PC. You then open any document and use screenhunter to take a photo of it, which is placed on your desktop as a jpg. Very easy. Even an idiot like me can do it.

If your file is too large, you can reduce it with, for example, the free program “irfanview”.
    Succes

ai, I think you should have applied for a COE earlier, I think that was also recommended for everyone who leaves before November 8.

Received confirmation email within 2 minutes after submitting via my g.mail . It stated that the result of the registration will be sent to your email address within 7 working days.
With me the approval came WITHIN 1 minute, which indicates that it is apparently electronically checked and if everything is complete and correct, you have approved it in no time. Submitted to me at 13.36 h, receipt mail at 13.37 h and then QR code immediately also at 13.37 h, my compliments for this application method.
Make sure that everything from pdf has been converted to jpg or jpeg format, which can be done quite easily in Adobe.
Put together all the necessary files to be uploaded so that you can find them quickly during the
completing the online application. What delayed me was, for example, the address of the quarantine hotel for 1 night and that was not on the confirmation of the AQ booking confirmation.
All in all, it comes down to filling out EVERYTHING completely and uploading the requested document per part at the time they indicate it. I thought it went great so good luck to all, it will be fine.

    Hello dear people ,

Great explanation, I applied for and completed the Thailand pass for my wife in 5 minutes and immediately received an email with the QR code. She flies back with KLM on Nov 29. and has a SHA plus hotel at Sukhumvit 107 Bangkok.
I had photographed all documents and Dutch QR codes and placed them in a folder. In total 10 minutes I had the Thailand pass QR code.
No Hotmail or Outlook used and all documents in JPG mode.
    Thank you for this .

    Greetings Joop and Deng

  6. Jan Willem says up

I applied for the Thailand Pass today.
There was 1 minute between the application and the approval of myself and my Thai husband.

    I had prepared myself.
    1. Everything in jpg format and maximum 4 MB file size.
    2. The QR code must be legible, otherwise a human must look at it.
    3. I bought the insurance from a Thai company.

I did go into the boat buying covid insurance from my Thai wife.
When applying for a Thai citizen, the ID card number is requested.
Apparently they can check whether you are insured, because the covid insurance question did not come.
But I had already bought it, so wasted money.

    Greetings Jan-Willem

  7. Glass says up

I applied for the Thailand Pass on November 3, but confirmation of receipt, but nothing has arrived yet, I'm starting to squeeze it nicely since I'm leaving sooner or later, is there a number you can call or the embassy. Still a little panic here.

    • Simon says up

Did you manage it? I still have 2 weeks, but I am also waiting for the Thailand Pass

  8. Henry says up

Requested the Thailand pass on November 1, received an immediate confirmation of the application. However, no pass has been received to date. Our flight is scheduled for Friday 12 Nov. Does anyone have any idea what I should do if we don't have a pass before then.

  9. Life says up

We have a Thai guest flying back in December. She has been vaccinated in Thailand and has paper evidence. So she has no NL or EU QR code.
In the comments I don't see anywhere whether the rules mentioned also apply to Thai people who are on holiday here, so does she need a Thailand pass, does she also have to stay in an SHA hotel and test upon arrival in BKK?

    • TheoB says up

      Yes Libbe,

      As it is now:
Your Thai guest must also request a QR code with ThailandPass.
Scan or take a digital photo of the Thai vaccination certificate and upload it.
Upload proof of booking for minimum 1 day SHA+hotel.
Because she is a Thai citizen, she does not need to upload proof of (US$50k) health insurance.
She must have herself tested for COVID-72 no more than 19 hours before departure and take the (negative) test result to Thailand in writing.
Immediately after arrival, she must have herself tested again for COVID-19 and then wait for the result in quarantine in the booked SHA+ hotel. If the test result is negative, she is free to go.

      See also https://www.thailandblog.nl/van-de-redactie/update-faq-inreisvoorwaarden-thailand/
And keep following this forum for changes in the admission procedure.

  10. Jos says up

My girlfriend is going to Thailand with a Dutch and Thai passport. The latter because then she does not need that insurance. Should the PCR test contain the details of her Dutch or Thai passport? Her KLM ticket contains the details of the Dutch passport, but she enters Thailand with her Thai passport.

    • French Pattaya says up

My wife also has a Dutch and Thai passport.
We used the data from the Thai passport for the PCR test. Incidentally, also with the entire application price and with the (KLM) booking.
Entire application and (outward) journey is therefore based on a Thai passport. All went smoothly.
Now that you have used the Dutch passport for the KLM booking, you will have to show both passports at check-in.

  11. Frank says up

My wife and daughter traveled in and out of the Netherlands several times in the pre-corona era with their Dutch passports and traveled in and out of Thailand with their Thai passports. Never had any problems.
    We flew with EVA Air.

    Success.

When reading FAQ part 2 [source: https://consular.mfa.go.th/th/content/thailand-pass-faqs-2 ] I noticed these details. i

I hope the explanation about the 2 vaccination certificates is not correct:

“My flight arrives in Thailand after midnight, how should I book my hotel for the Exemption from Quarantine scheme?
    ..
PETITIONERS SHOULD BOOK A HOTEL FOR THE DAY BEFORE ARRIVING IN THAILAND. EXAMPLE: IF YOU ARRIVE IN THAILAND ON NOVEMBER 2, 2021 AT 01.00 AM, YOU SHOULD BOOK A HOTEL FOR 1 – 2 NOVEMBER 2021 (1 NIGHT).”

“-Yes. You need to submit both the certificates of your 1st (1/2) and 2nd (2/2) doses of vaccination.
    – yes, the registrant must upload the vaccination cycle documents of both needle 1 (1/2) and needle 2 (2/2).”

  13. Marc says up

It took a bit of time to put all the forms in the right format, once that I requested the Thailandpas QR code via the site. A few hours later, the pass arrived!
Thanks for the info, grtz, Marc

  14. Ronny says up

Just applied for the Thailandpas, but did the necessary preparation! All documents in jpeg, the qr code of the vaccination certificates added separately.
The registration was done in 5 minutes. received the confirmation email with the tracking code and also a subsequent email with the confirmation of approval. This is exactly 1 minute after registration. Super!!!
