Check, check, check, check, Test & Go to Thailand
Anyone who wants to travel to Thailand now has to take a number of hurdles. That's annoying, but these are special times. With a little perseverance and good preparation you can still go to the 'Land of Smiles'. Crucial is the Thailand Pass QR code and a negative Covid test. Without those two documents you cannot enter the country unless you are James Bond.
Some readers become frustrated because they have not received a Thailand Pass shortly before departure, some become stressed and have sleepless nights. Yet I have not yet heard that someone did not receive the Thailand Pass and therefore could not leave for Thailand.
A reader suggested in a response to travel to Thailand without a Thailand Pass if necessary, but to bring all the documents required when applying for the Pass. "Just try," he said. That response has been moderated because this is bad advice and also turns out to be impossible.
Anyone who has taken the hurdle and traveled from Amsterdam to Bangkok with KLM has noticed that the Thailand Pass is very often requested at both Schiphol and Suvarnabhumi. Hence the title 'Check, check, check, check, Test & Go to Thailand'. If you do not have a Thailand Pass, you simply cannot board the plane to Bangkok. This has already been checked several times at Schiphol. Even when you get off the plane, you have to show the Thailand Pass and you will be met to check it. Then again by officials if you have to sit in a row on the blue chairs and then you have to go through a checkpoint again where your data is checked in the computer in combination with your passport before you can continue to immigration (so with the fake QR code or someone else's won't work either). Once you have passed through immigration and you have picked up your luggage, you will be met in the hall by people who will take you to the right taxi to your hotel, even then you will have to show your Thailand Pass and passport again.
If you want to travel to Thailand and not be stressed by waiting for the Thailand Pass QR code, make sure you upload the QR codes of your vaccinations correctly. Then you are usually lucky that you are automatically approved by the system. You will then receive the QR code directly in your email. There are plenty of tips here on Thailandblog from readers who have gone through the procedure, read it carefully and act accordingly. It will be fine. You just have to put in a little more effort.
If you are illiterate or low literate and you see it as a mountain, contact a visa agency that will also take care of the application for the Thailand Pass for you.
There will probably be more relaxations to be able to travel to Thailand, but we are not rid of the Thailand Pass for the time being. Count on that.
It was a good read for a while, but then very simple and clear. Your insurance policy readable in jpeg is quite a small challenge. All those checks were fine and went very smoothly so certainly not an obstacle not to go. Waiting for results in Bangkok is exciting. The Carlton hotel had arranged everything (taxi, test in hospital and room) perfectly. My advice if you want to make sure you have all the pieces and then it's arranged in no time. Tip: when uploading, also add your QR code. You will then receive feedback faster.
3 Hints!!!
1ALWAYS apply for ThailandPass! In the Mozilla Firefox environment.
2 Make sure you upload all documents in JPG, JPEG format.
3 Always make sure that you have a GMAIL email account and also register it there.
100% that you have your Thailand Pass within 10 minutes.
Success!
1. Chrome also works.
Not with me. Fire Fox does.
For converting all kinds of formats (including pdf to jpg) the link below.
Super website!

Forgot to mention at the link: choose 'more great tools'.
Only good for people who have some kind of connection with Thailand see property family and or partner.
I don't see the 'normal' tourist starting right away and rightly so.
We used a Gmail address and less than 5 minutes later we had our Thailand pass. do not use Hotmail, that is where most things go wrong. And Idd also checked everything in Belgium and also very well organized at the stopover and in Thailand itself, everything went smoothly test hotel taxi everything is in tip-top order
Well, I've been working on it for a good week, including my visa application, but what a hassle and yes I am a computer geek. If I had known this in advance, hawk would have skipped another year….
Arrived BKK today with Singapore Airlines, everything quickly arranged in advance Visa 3 months Thailandpass etc
just get things in order and you will have it done within 2 days. At the airport everything runs smoothly within 25 minutes on the way to PCR test and Hotel. Nice morning to Khon Kaen.
Everything was actually great. Only strange sight Singapore and Bangkok how few aircraft there are at the gate . That was different 2 years ago.
I did everything exactly as stated above and for me it took 7 days before my work was approved.
So no, you will not always be automatically approved if you fill in everything correctly.
Then there was a reason for manual control.
Ditto with me and my wife: 7 days.
how far in advance do you have to apply for this pass? my Thai girlfriend leaves for Thailand on January 22, is 4 weeks in advance enough?
Two weeks in advance is fine.
I know almost nothing about all those technical terms
Convert JPG How do you do that no idea
Don't have a scanner how do you get this on your PC?
Just want to say what an anti-policy to introduce something like that
Just some extra staff at the airport
So yes I will have to go around asking for help
All that for a piece of Paradise
Simple can not,, more?
You can do it. QR codes, certificates, apps etc are used everywhere. With a little help, you can too. Welcome to the 21st century.
Visaplus.nl can take care of everything . You can make an appointment at the office.
They scan the documents you brought with you to jpg and also send them by computer.
Visa and Thai Pass all arranged.
We leave on the 28th and only applied for the visa and Thailand last week.
Visa took 2 working days and only 10 minutes for me and 15 minutes for my Thai wife.
Better too early than too late
Now only the pcr test 2 days before departure.
I had mine in 2 seconds 🙂
Dear,
Nice stories all, but I'm missing something crucial. So you just throw everything on the internet regarding your passport with your BSN number for a QR code, read Thailand pass? I think there has been a lot of hacking lately or am I being naive? So I was wondering if someone taped their BSN number and then received their QR code from the Thai authorities…
I would like to hear something…..
Thanks
Richard
Your BSN number is no longer on the front of your passport, so they don't get it either.
Due to circumstances I was only able to submit my Thailand Pass application today, while I already leave on Monday. Already received confirmation, but it says that it can take 3 to 7 days. Suppose I get into trouble, is there anything I can do to speed up the procedure?
Tips from the Belgian embassy
