French Amsterdam in Pattaya (part 1)

By popular demand, I will continue where I left off. I can tell from the number of 'likes' when it all gets too much for you.

At the front of the hotel I wanted, there were still two rooms available on my favorite floor – the first – so I could choose.

I didn't have to worry about my bag anymore, the boy held it tight and would undoubtedly defend it with his life if necessary, it was his first tip that day.

Where everything is located and how everything works in the rooms here, I know that by now. Yet he always checks whether the television is working, the minibar is stocked, he puts the plastic chairs on the balcony and checks the safe. That locker made one beep too many. The electronic part was seriously disrupted, resetting did not help.

No problem, within half an hour he would come up with another one. And indeed, after twenty minutes there was a knock and there he was again. It's not much for such a locker, but they are heavy. Sweat was dripping from his head, or he had simply held his head under the tap in the hope of tip number two.

Now I could safely put some things away and exchange 3 Euro notes for 58 Thai – at a rate of 38.93 – because the hotel would like to be paid in advance.

Then plopped on the bed. If I had already been quite happy with three airplane seats, this was really starting to look like it and to please the somewhat broken bones and muscles, I responded positively to a message from one of my acquaintances on Facebook, who already had a massage on offer. A very friendly ladyboy who had just returned from a few weeks in Isaan.

Dad and mom have a beautiful house there, large fenced garden, wide driveway, several cars, luxurious furnishings, beautifully landscaped garden, air conditioners, flat screen TVs, a real kitchen, daily bacchanals, I was amazed at the photos on Facebook. In short, she has everything her heart desires there and no one to drive her out of there, no baby to take care of and the parents are not waiting for an attachment.

Yet she often travels to Pattaya, to rent an Aggenebbes room with a fan and a squat toilet as the only luxury, and then occasionally score a customer to survive. If things go well, then they eat well, make-up is bought, some clothes, until it is gone, and if a new customer does not present itself in time, the new phone goes back to Uncle Jan and it remains with a bowl rice.

I don't think I'll ever find out what possesses such a person. It is an example of someone who does not at all meet all the stereotypes that are used so much.

Anyway, it was about the massage and she does it excellently. After two hours it came to an end and I felt reborn.
Not long after she left I received two photos. On the first I could see what goodies she was eating and the second showed the receipt from the ATM that she had deposited part of her wages into her account.

    Fun to read again.
Have fun the rest of the holiday and hopefully we can enjoy a restaurant review or other fun experience.

If you want part 2 as well, it's best to 'like' this article, I don't know how long I haven't noticed that, but that's the button above “Related articles”.

I never knew that either. I thought you were going to do something with Facebook.
But now I found it and used it right away.

Welcome, as you are so often spoken to and invited to Pattaya, they are happy to see you again.
Nice to read the experiences of a veteran with a broad Thailand knowledge, keep it up.

Good news Frans, that you will continue for the time being, where you left off yesterday. I hope for a daily story from you, preferably also with a few restaurant reviews. Looking forward to.

Continue French! But that "like" doesn't work.

Nice story Frans, looking forward to the next part. But the 'like' doesn't really work.

Frans, I hope the Editors read along, maybe it would be a nice token of appreciation for the writers if we didn't have to go to Facebook to "like", but could indicate directly below an article that we "like" the article. Perhaps for some an incentive to start writing too.
If the possibility would remain to continue to respond to the submitted comments under a comment, everyone would be satisfied.

      Dear NicoB,
That “like” button has nothing to do with Facebook. Just click once if you like something and that's it.

How exactly that is with that liking, the editors should take a look at that. For one it works, for the other it doesn't. I myself don't have to go to Facebook on an Android tablet.
For me it looks like this:

Do you want to have your hotel paid for all days or a part?
The food in the picture looks delicious.
Again a nice story and the "like" button works well.

Everything immediately and non-refundable. That is also common with 'offers' in both the aviation and the hotel industry, in my experience.

    Like your style.
