As the loyal TB reader knows, I have been working for 2 years to solve the problem of the additional insurance requirement when applying for a Non Immigrant O visa.

First by persuading the Dutch health insurers to stop their refusal to issue the required statement of insurance, later through the mediation of the Dutch embassy in Bangkok. This process is/is still running.

However, on the Thailand blog of September 30, I was suddenly surprised by Ronny Latya's statement that the insurance requirement was no longer listed on the website of the Thai embassy in The Hague.

It is completely unknown to me what prompted the Thai embassy to suddenly drop this requirement. If I become aware of this, I will inform you about it. But for now it seems that we can consider this matter closed.

    Later that day I received an email with the visa without having changed anything.
