What is the state of the beach chairs on Patong Beach?
Dear readers,
I no longer hear or read about the beach chairs on the beach of Patong Beach. There was a fuss about that four years ago. Can we use a beach chair and parasol again? We are considering booking Phuket for a few weeks, but if the beach chairs are not allowed, we will go elsewhere.
Thanks and regards,
John

Last April and May I went on holiday in Patong .... beach chairs / beds with umbrella are available again ... 100 baht per bed. But beware: Smoking is prohibited on Patong Beach, except in the designated smoking areas.
Last December there were just beach chairs + umbrella on Patong beach again. Try to haggle, because asking prices for foreigners can be quite high.
Yes, I just got back and they are indeed available again.
