Reader question: Looking for tips for renting a house/apartment for a month or longer
Dear readers,
In January we want to go to Thailand for a longer period with our two children and dog. Enough hotels, holiday homes, etc. to choose from, but we prefer to look for places where we can feel 'at home' for a little longer and that are not too expensive.
We start in Bangkok, maybe also the area of Hua Hin and in any case go north in the area of Chiang Mai.
All tips are welcome! Please also from websites with apartments and houses where we can search.
Thanks in advance!
Nathalie
For huahin we have a condo for rent

For Buriram we have a house for rent for a long time

just AIRBNB.
The opium (serviced apartments) is a must for price quality in chiang mai, but book in time
I would first look at the comment: with dog! It's not that simple (and a lot of paperwork to get into Thailand) and dogs are certainly not welcome everywhere. Had to search for a long time for a house where a dog was welcome and about 2 months for the entire stall to get that beast here.
Advice: Leave the dog at home or in a boarding house. Very annoying for the dog and uncomfortable for you. The dog is of no use at all and you have a lot of hassle. See comment Ko.
I also have an apartment in Jomtien. Maast pattaya On Park lane Take a look and if you are interested Let me know. There is plenty to do in the area.
You sit there nice and quiet 600 meters from the beach with transport from the apartment to the beach every hour.
where is it located in jomtien how big and rent price.
I am interested for mid-Jan to mid-February. I would like further information regarding facilities and price. Kind regards.
Bernard.
I may be interested in +/- 6 months in 2016, but how can I view it and what is possibly. the price and size.
Gr Pam
I have a condo for rent in jomtien in paradise park .36 meters .1 bedroom separate with terrace .ask per month for longer time 13500
For example, taking the dog to Thailand if you have your 'own' house, … is a bad idea (see earlier post about this above). You have lost him times due to quarantine issues and cause the animal a lot of stress. If you want to visit something somewhere, take a walk, etc. then … (see 'problems' with tours).
I do not recommend traveling around with a dog in Thailand anyway. The poor beast will be constantly attacked by mutts or dogs on the street (there's a difference between them) who will defend their territory at all costs. And this is what these four-legged friends do best. Can your dog be quarantined for a long time because of bite wounds on the way back. And then hope that you will get him back (because he has suffered something).
Our dog is/was a Romanian street dog. Perhaps that's why he never has problems with other dogs. In addition, he is super relaxed…. We always take him everywhere we travel and that's really fine for him.
I do understand that it is less easy to travel and it can hinder the search for a place, not being able to enter everywhere, etc.
I also understand that dogs do not have to be quarantined, provided that all vaccinations are in order, blood test has been done (I believe max 10 days before departure) etc. However, if anyone has other experiences, even if these conditions are met, I will hear about it Please.
Dogs do not have to be quarantined for Thailand, but they have had all vaccinations and indeed the last one within 10 days before departure. Then to Utrecht for permission to export a dog. Everything has to be mailed to the vet at the airport in Thailand and then wait for permission. In the meantime, you have of course already arranged a plane seat for the beast. You should also not have a flight with a stopover somewhere, that is not possible for the dog. So leave it at home! I went to live here and then it was manageable (for us) but it was certainly no fun for the dog. And in addition to all the costs for the dog, you also have to book an expensive ticket because not every company takes dogs.
Where does Marcel get this information regarding quarantine? Imported a dog myself via Schiphol to Bangkok. Obtain the necessary papers from the vet, plus an international passport and an approved kennel. Check your dog in at Schiphol Cargo and board the plane with you the same day. Picked up again the same day in Bangkok. Note: had to pay extra in Bangkok to get the dog!
book a hotel for a few days at the place you like,
and then drive around.
You will surely find something to your liking.
Don't bring your dog!! that's looking for trouble.
For the money you pay to bring your dog, you can also accommodate him
in people who provide family care.
We have faced the same question, and decided not to do that to our dog.
A lot of stress for your dog and many restrictions for yourself.
Addresses can be found on the internet.
Think of approx. 1000 euros costs for 2 months.
