Dear readers,

Regards,

Paul

I did the same for the car and a motorcycle last year.

Together with my wife I went to the Land Transport office (Kon son) with the request to put the vehicle in my name. Green booklet (tabian rot) and identification documents. Thai ID card for my wife and Thai driver's license, EU passport and certificate of residence from immi for me.

The lady at the desk gave us the good advice to first get an extract from the marriage register at the town hall (amphur).

When transferring ownership between officially married couples, a fixed tax of 30 thb was levied for our car and motorcycle. In case of transfer between unmarried persons, a tax is levied on the regulatory residual value. In concrete terms, that would have been slightly more than 3000 thb for us if we had not submitted an extract from the marriage register.

We also had to go through the technical inspection, where the chassis and engine number were verified and certified free of charge.

It went smoothly without any problems and including a visit to town hall was completed in 2 hours. Luckily it wasn't too busy.

    1. Get to immigration form that you want to buy motorbike.
    2. Together to Land Transport office. Fill out paperwork. Finished! Just don't forget and necessarily go together.

    Succes

You can just put a shooter in your name, but you must have a driver's license
