Home » Reader question » Reader question: What is the total cost of an SQ flight for mother and daughter?
Dear readers,
I understand that SQ hotel is free for Thai nationals. And also the transport to the destination province. But what does the flight cost and do you have to book it yourself? And what do the corona tests cost on day 5 and day 10? Are there any additional costs involved?
I couldn't find this on the website of the Thai embassy. https://hague.thaiembassy.org/th/content/register-for-sq-may-2021.
Another question, is it true that there is also an SQ hotel in Buriram that you can sign up for? That's easy if your Korat is your final destination I think.
Regards,
Song

I was repatriated on June 20, 2020 due to military service via the Embassy in The Hague.
-Cost-
Flight AMS-BKK: EUR 510,31*
Transport to SQ: Free
State Quarantine: Free
Test 1: Free
Test 2: Free
Bus to province: Free
Sometimes Thailand isn't that crazy after all! A lot of communication goes through the Line app.
*payable at KLM ticket counter at Schiphol after temperature and document check by the embassy.
-Stay-
I couldn't choose where I ended up (perhaps because it was still the early period?). Immediately after arriving in BKK, I was taken to Pattaya with the rest of the plane to go into quarantine there. I was then only allowed to leave my room if I had to get tested (day 5 and day 10). So bring something to read!
Families are spread as little as possible over several rooms. In my case
Please note that day of arrival at the hotel is day 0. And that you can leave the hotel AFTER 14 days of quarantine (i.e. on day 16).
Wimbo,
You have understood that the SQ hotel and transport to the capital of the destination province are free for Thai.
After they – both separately – via https://hague.thaiembassy.org/th/content/register-for-sq-may-2021 have registered for an 'SQ flight' on 14 or 28 May at 21:20, they will receive an initial approval (or rejection) from the embassy via e-mail.
After that, they must each book a KLM ticket for that flight (may also be a return ticket) and upload it on https://coethailand.mfa.go.th/
After approval by the Thai authorities, a Certificate of Entry can be downloaded.
Since April 1, Thais no longer need a fit to fly statement to be admitted to Thailand. Do check with KLM whether they still require this to be allowed on the plane.
https://hague.thaiembassy.org/th/content/115037-info-for-thai-nationals-going-to-thailand
The quarantine is again 14 full days (arrival Saturday, departure Sunday 15 days later) and the corona tests on day 5 and day 10 are free.
There is NO freedom of choice in SQ hotel and I think there are only SQ hotels in Bangkok and Pattaya/Jomtien.
If they choose to be taken to the bus station of 'their' provincial capital for free after quarantine, they must take into account that the journey takes extra long, because people are picked up at various hotels and they drive via Bangkok and various provincial capitals. . After leaving early in the morning at 6-7am, Korat town will probably be reached late in the afternoon.
I don't know how old her daughter is, but when she grows up she will have her own room. I advise you to check with the embassy until what age a child can be placed in the parent's room and to send them their answer to me. [email protected]
The costs are for their transport to Schiphol, 2 KLM tickets and transport from the bus station in Korat city to home plus the extras that are ordered during the quarantine.
