Reader question: The mandatory Covid-19 insurance and the booking of the flight for CoE
Posted in Reader question
Tags: Certificate of Entry, CoE, Covid-19 insurance, Thailand entry conditions
Dear readers,
On June 25 I fly back to Belgium for +/- 3 months and return to Thailand before the end of my annual visa, which expires on 04/10, exact date not yet set.
My question specifically relates to the mandatory Covid-19 insurance and flight booking to comply with Thai Certificate of Entry regulations on my return. ASQ etc. can be arranged before my departure through the website.
– Can I return for the CoE with a one-way flight or do I have to purchase a return ticket?
– Can I purchase the mandatory Covid-19 insurance, for example via AXA, before my departure and if so, for how long? Is 1 year mandatory?
Bedankt,
Dirk

I came to Thailand on December 4 last year came back after lockdown, ASQ in Bangkok. I came on a single ticket while the expiry date of my Non O (Retirement Visa) was only two days after the end of the quarantine. Never had any problems. (Schiphol, Zurich, Swiss Air, Bangkok, immigration Chiang Mai)
Dear Dirk, I'm Benny and I work at AA insurance in Thailand. Your insurance must cover the period of stay in Thailand. If you use the current visa to apply for your COE, the insurance must therefore run until the expiry date of your visa. The aforementioned AXA insurance is not a good choice in your case. Belgium is a high-risk country, so the AXA premium is high. Also with your visa you must have 400,000 THB inpatient and 40,000 THB outpatient coverage to get your COE. The AXA policy does not meet this requirement. Please contact me at [email protected] or through our site http://www.AAInsure.net. Then you will receive a quotation that is satisfactory and costs less.
With regards
Benny
I think you will have to come back by September 15th as long as you still have to do 15 days of quarantine before getting everything sorted out by October 4th
For the other i don't now
Hi Dirk,
can you tell me which documents I need to have to re-enter Belgium? ( Passenger Location Form…etc…) Are additional tests (Covid) required for the airline?
Thanks in advance,
Yan ( [email protected] )
Yan, that can be found on your airline's website. All have a separate section for it.
Good luck,
Z
