Reader question: Looking for good reliable painters in Pattaya
Dear readers,
I want to have 2 apartments painted and am looking for skilled painters to carry out those works. I know from experience that the result of a lot of work carried out in the construction industry in general often does not correspond to our expectations and standards. That's why I'm asking if anyone has had good experiences with a painting company. I am living in Pattaya (Naklua).
Regards,
Rudi
We had 2 houses painted and other work carried out by a good acquaintance (my wife's ex-brother-in-law).
He doesn't have his own business, but works on the side.
Makes a price agreement in advance and he honors his agreements.
He hardly speaks any English. Dutch not at all.
I can put you in touch with him if you want. please email your phone number [email protected]
I haven't discussed this with him yet, so I don't know if he has time now.
Groet
Henk
Dear Rudi,
You're doing a nice job there! I have the dubious pleasure of having hundreds of thousands of m2 of painting done on my projects in the EU, N. Africa and the M. East. I dare say that on any project this is one of the disciplines where A LOT can go wrong and quality generally depends on quality control and there have been many lawsuits in the world on the same subject!
The best and cheapest solution is to do it yourself!
If you don't, make a good specification in consultation with the paint supplier and make a deal with them that they also carry out the quality control with THEIR warranty of, say, 5 years. That is a bit more expensive, but without quality control you will be EVEN more expensive!
Good luck,
I am a Mr. Retired painter, when we wintered in Thailand I painted houses to our complete satisfaction.
Make an offer and I'll be there.
Please send me your email address so that I can contact you
Rudi, Rob writes that he painted houses when he wintered in Thailand. So it's a thing of the past and I assume that 'the hare' will not be in Thailand now, but if you reimburse the tickets and accommodation, they will want to paint your house. It will then be an expensive joke for you and also something that can end badly. Because Rob and 'the hare' are not allowed to do any painting work in Thailand and you are not allowed to contract them for that either. Could cause you all a lot of misery. So you have to rely on a Thai painter, of whom, luckily for you, there are plenty of them who deliver excellent work. You just have to find them and if you don't get enough response here, you have to look for yourself and rely on word of mouth advertising.

Hello, I come to paint for free, possibly with a colleague, take care of travel kit. Food and shelter. We are retired. Gr. Tom.
Dear AC, do you live in Thailand?
