Home » Reader question » Reader question: Is Koh Chang the largest island in Thailand after Phuket?
Dear readers,
Congratulations for your articles, always good, but do have a question about your article about Koh Chang that you "posted" on May 23rd. You say that Koh Chang is the second largest island in Thailand after Phuket. I have discussed this subject several times on leave with both local residents and…. but we never got out.
Based on the official sites, Koh Chang appears to have an area of 217 km2 and Koh Samui 228 km2, so Koh Chang would not be the second largest but the third largest island in Thailand after Phuket and Samui.
What's true here?

Why should I doubt those sizes? Or just search wikipedia.
Thank you Eric, You confirm what other sites say, claim .. being that Koh or Ko Chang is indeed the third and not the second largest island of the kingdom of Thailand .. although this is not of prime importance now, but for the good order :-).

Phuket is a peninsula as far as I know.
No, Endorfun, Phuket is an island. A bridge or tunnel does not make an island a peninsula.
