Home » Reader question » Reader question: Is there already more information about the income statement?
Dear readers,
Is there already more information about the income statement which, according to my latest messages, should take effect on April 1, 2017? Maybe I missed news about this? Also, as the very last announcement, I can only find that of January 2017 from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that a new regulation or the like will be introduced before April. Then it became remarkably quiet.
Meanwhile, when I write this, it is April 17, 2017, so the aforementioned coming up with new rules for April 1 has already passed the expiration date. The new website does not clarify this either. There, reference is made to the old/new regulation that is/was under discussion and it is also stated that a new/adjusted regulation will be introduced.
So the question in short: what do I need for that income statement/signature legalization and do I still have to come to Bangkok for that, or schedule an appointment through the embassy agenda?
Regards,
Harm
This is on the site of the Embassy Bangkok;
Income and wealth statement in Thailand
The Thai Immigration authorities require a so-called income statement from foreigners who want to apply for a (year) visa for Thailand.
In fact, this is a form on which your signature is legalized. It is not an income statement as issued in the Netherlands. The statement (or legalization) can be requested in writing at the Dutch embassy in Bangkok.
Which documents do you need for the application?
Written requests will be returned within 10 working days of receipt.
With a written request, you must send the following documents:
a fully completed and signed application form “self-declaration of income”
copy of a valid Dutch proof of identity (passport or ID card)
THB 1300 in cash (you will get proof of payment and change if needed)
if you want to transfer the fee by bank transfer, please send a copy/print of your transfer of 26,25 euros to the bank account in The Hague, stating your initials and surname + ZMA Bangkok:
ING Bank NV
Amsterdam
IBAN: NL93INGB0705454029
BIC or Swift code: INGBNL2A
Account in the name of: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, concerns RSO-ASIA
a self-addressed return envelope on which you affix the necessary stamp(s).
your contact details (phone/email)
Incomplete applications will not be processed and returned.
You are advised to use a courier service (Thailand Post, UPC, DHL) so that you can check where your mail item is.
The embassy is not responsible for lost mail or late delivery.
Change of procedure
The procedure as described on this page will change soon. View the news item about this. As soon as that is the case, the information on this page will be adjusted.
To get to the income statement you first have to visit the site http://www.nederlandwereldwijd.nl to have
then scroll down and you will see Countries & Areas, click on it then choose the country (Thailand) then scroll down again and click on living and working then you have everything we need as Dutch people living in Thailand.

Forgot to mention something I (Pekasu) had sent it on March 23 and had it back after 5 days so it can be sent by post

Dear Harm, I can hang a whole story against you, but if you want to take this as a tip if you have read your story, then it says at the bottom leave a comment and above there are several reactions so pick only 1 and if you can't figure it out, just this they don't know anymore.
I have now sent a message to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs asking what the rationale is for the new Income Statement procedure announced in November last year (and withdrawn after widespread protest).
What is my surprise today? Ministry of Foreign Affairs has forwarded my complaint/question to the Embassy in Bangkok! This on the basis of an internal “complaint handling scheme”. So I immediately informed (also to Mr. Haenen of the Embassy) that I do not want an answer from the Embassy about the how and why of the procedure change, as the procedure change comes from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
So I am very curious about the response.
