Reader question: Who knows a good hotel in Korat and Chiang Rai?
Dear readers,
Soon we will travel to Thailand again for 3 weeks. We want to stay in Korat and in Chang Rai.
Anyone know a good hotel in Korat? And a good hotel in Chang Rai?
And can anyone give us tips on what we should definitely do or visit in Chang Rai and when there are markets.
Bedankt,
Paul
V-One Hotel Korat
nice breakfast, cheap and a pool, indoor
opposite the Mall, shopping center,
20 minutes by tuk-tuk from a very large market
laluna hotel resort in chiang rai is highly recommended (fantastic breakfast, beautiful rooms, beautiful garden, swimming pool…).
Ben Guesthouse in Chiang Rai lovely people and a nice pool
Hermitage hotel.
Very good !
We have good experiences with the ,,Wiang inn Hotel, because the location is central in the center of Chiangrai. It has nice rooms, a good breakfast buffet, and is located about 100m from the daily night bazaar, where you can enjoy excellent food and music at the same time, and a free Folklore Show. Every Saturday evening there is a large market, with dancing, which is visited by both the local population and many tourists. The Wiang inn Hotel has its own Tour Office, and also has a swimming pool, and is within walking distance of all sights. There are also good hotels that are further from the center, where you have the disadvantage that you need a transfer every time.
What you should also not forget is a visit to "Wat rong Khun" (the white temple), which you can easily visit with a "song taew". If you ask for a "song taew" at the day market of Chiangrai that goes to Phan (approximately 15 bath pp), you will see the "Wat rong Khun" on the right after about 15 km.
Gr. John.
Definitely recommended this hotel. The advantage is that it is centrally located so you can walk to the center and night market. The breakfast is fine and we didn't find it expensive to have lunch or dinner for a fee.
Hi,
If you don't mind out of town Korat I would say go to the Korat Resort.
Very spacious rooms, very large swimming pool, behind the resort is a beautiful golf course.
Homestay in Chiang Rai owner is called Toony de Kroon.
Has its own site in Dutch and English, is well written by Tripadviser.
Small-scale resort, quietly located by a Dutch owner, clean and beautiful rooms, fantastic beds, nice swimming pool, he will take you to the center for free, offer good excursions.
Check agoda or hotel.com. Because good is different for everyone. One is satisfied with 3 stars and others want at least a 4 star.
There are many good hotels in Korat
For me, the Wangcome hotel in Chian Rai has been my favorite for more than 25 years, simply because the price/quality ratio is perfect
I agree with Mitch, you can very well make your own choice on the internet.
For example, I found a very good condo in Chiang Rai.
A very spacious room, kitchen and a communal salt water swimming pool
And this for a price of a cheap hotel.
At the moment I am staying here for two weeks, and I like it very much.
Trevor and his wife Pat (the owners) are very friendly and very helpful.
I can recommend this Condo to everyone.

Dear Paul,
You can find excellent hotels in Chiang Rai and Korat Thailand.
Use a good hotel price comparison website and you will soon save a lot of money.
The booking websites always offer different prices 🙂
Here is a list of the recommended Hotels based on the reviews.
Hotels in Chiang Rai: http://hotels.tripdiscount.net/Place/Chiang_Rai_1.htm
Hotels in Korat: http://hotels.tripdiscount.net/Place/Nakhon_Ratchasima_1.htm
Success with it!
I had a very pleasant stay in sima thani hotel in korat, was about 2 bath 2000 years ago, good room with nice bathroom and swimming pool.
Around the corner in the noodle shop I met my girlfriend (the boss of the shop) and I am going there again in January for 3 months. But opposite the Mall also seems to me an excellent place if you want to spend more time in the city. Transport is not expensive, by the way.
Have fun. You could consider a nice trip to Phi mai. There is also a dinosaur museum not too far away.
greetings, anton
I myself live in Chiang Rai.
Maybe clarify what your budget is and what you expect from your hotel.
How much time do you have in Chiang Rai and what are your interests: nature – culture – sports – trekking?
There is a weekend market on Saturday and Sunday and a night market every day.
Hi Marc, thanks for the info. We would stay in Chang RAI from Saturday to Wednesday. Want to go to the temple, of course, but also the 3-country point must be beautiful? And also a local market should not be missed. There would also be beautiful waterfalls. thanks in advance for your help
