Home » Reader question » Reader question: Honda pcx 150 to be shipped to the Netherlands
Dear readers,
I have a Honda pcx 150 on Koh Samui. I am considering shipping it to the Netherlands. Does anyone have experience with how this works and which company does this?
I have previously found a name on Thailandblog of the Cleve company, but after 2 emails and 2 weeks of waiting I have not heard anything.
Regards,
According to
I've had excellent experiences with windmill forwarding - admittedly this way, but they have a good agent, so...why not try it?
http://www.windmillforwarding.nl/nl-nl/particuliere_verhuizingen.aspx
they normally do not provide documents in country of arrival to register the pcx . better buy a new one in the Netherlands
If you want to participate in traffic in the Netherlands with the Honda pcx, is it not wise to check whether there is a type approval for this vehicle in the Netherlands? Otherwise you may have to take it to the RDW to have it inspected separately. There's more to it than that as far as I know.
I don't understand how that would be so difficult. There are a multitude of transport companies that are willing to ship everything to the Netherlands for you. You are charged per cubic meter and what you put in is, provided the forms are filled in correctly and any anti-bug treatment is applied, otherwise not interesting. I have had a considerable load of various Thai material shipped to the Netherlands from Chiangmai twice. It concerned household goods and a professional vibration plate (fitness). So I don't see why a motor vehicle (engine parts) should be any different. The problem will only arise if you also want to ride that motorcycle in the Netherlands.
Hello Wibar, and Teo would have liked an address or name or email from that transporter. That's what he's looking for.
Do you think that is profitable?
You must execute and ship it. Then in the Netherlands to RWD for inspection and license plate.
Import rights and BPM. Will soon cost something, while a second hand PCX 150 costs 2 euros or even a new 2000 model 2015 euros
see https://www.motoroccasion.nl/motoren/zoeken/honda-pcx-150-b18-t5052.html
I think it is better to sell there, it also saves you all the trouble and possibly frustrations in case of damage during transport
Or should it be a special edition with gold and diamonds?
First inquire whether this type of moped is allowed in the Netherlands.
I don't know what it costs, but importing a motor vehicle from Thailand to the Netherlands by a private person will cause problems. Firstly you have to pay import duties and that can add up, secondly if you want to use it on the Dutch road here you must have a license plate. You only get this if you receive a type approval from the RDW. and only if this model has ever been type-approved. Technical adjustments will probably also have to be made because the Thai traffic law is very different from the Dutch one. Success
you could share a container with more people.
Regards, Jack
Forget it quickly! Sell in Thailand and just buy new or 2nd hand in NL. Make sure you have an official motorcycle license because it is not a moped of course…..
