Home » Reader question » Reader question: Girlfriend pregnant and options for abortion?
Dear readers,
I have a problem, my girlfriend is pregnant. She was first on the injection but then she had too many problems with the side effects.
She then switched to the regular pill, in consultation with a doctor in Bangkok Hospital. Yet she got pregnant. Six weeks now, the doctor says. After consultation and because of the problems she has with the family, it was decided for an abortion. In Bangkok Hospital they don't want to do that.
Now I know there is an abortion pill (mifipristone). Does anyone know how I can obtain it? Or a hospital or doctor who can solve our problem?
We did get advice for one or the other drink, but we don't like that. Maybe not in Thailand but then in another country, China is possible. Is done very often there, but do we need a visa again and my girlfriend wants it quickly.
I hope someone can help us?
Regards,
Rob
fly to Singapore
There are several abortion clinics.
We advise you to request the price and make an appointment in advance
to make.
Addresses can be found through google
Succes
No, go to the family planning clinic on Sukhumvit Soi 12. Next to the Cabbages & Condoms restaurant.
You can go there for expert advice and also an abortion.
Good luck and don't wait any longer, 6 weeks is quite far already.
And talk about whether you might not want to keep the baby after all? Abortion really should be a last resort.
Cheers,
Gerard
I can only help you with the information that abortions are NOT allowed in Thailand (unless… and that is not the case here). So you will have to go abroad (in SE Asia this is legal in Vietnam and China).
DO NOT engage you and your girlfriend with “alternative” methods under any circumstances. That puts your girlfriend in danger and you could be involved in a criminal trial (for trying to have an abortion). So don't do that anyway!
Although not an option at the moment, you could still consider bringing the child into the world. I don't know the problems, don't want to know, but if you and your girlfriend are convinced that you have a future together, then this is also a solution.
Cambodia is abortion also legal – in addition
Dear,
I was in Chiang Mai, and together with an acquaintance I went to a hospital for information about abortion. The next day she was allowed to present herself at 8am. There were more women waiting in line than a bus of 40 people can transport. The price was 8000bath.
center Chiang Mai, but I don't remember the name, just go to the hospital there, they will refer you.
gr
At the Pattaya International Hospital there seems to be a clinic that is (unofficially?) connected
would be with PIH, where an abortion seems to be done.
Get well soon.
Dear Rob,
The laws on abortion in Thailand are quite strict, but there is always an exception.
In many large cities you will find a "garbage and condom" establishment (ie a kind of NVSH)
I think your problem can be solved there.
Success.

oops, must be gabbages and condoms
the easiest thing is to order an abortion pill online.
This is arranged by a Dutch NGO that operates worldwide.
Sent by post to Thailand after payment of 70 euros.
possible up to 8-9 weeks of pregnancy so act quickly.
Success.

Hallo,
I had this problem with a friend's daughter a few years ago.
They then went to Bangkok. In Soi 8, or 10 of Sukhumvit Road there was a legalized abortion clinic at the time. Visitors were helped immediately.
Maybe a useful tip.
Success!

You can in any case buy the abortion pill in Laos, according to a lady from Laos who "works" in Thailand.
(No, I did NOT get those pregnant!)
Sukhumvit Soi 12 next to C&C
You will most likely be able to go to Chiangmai Medical Center Hospital on Nantaram Rd. in Chiang Mai. In the past anyway.
If you really don't want to, there are plenty of options. Since your girlfriend also had the injection before, I assume that you (you?) really don't want it.
I must say that I was in the same situation, and then decided (together with my girlfriend at the time) to keep it. I was 52, had no children, but had 2 abortions. So I thought: now or never again.
I've never been happier. When I see my son (now 8 years old) a shiver of happiness still runs through me every day. I NEVER wanted to miss this.
I can't look into your heart, but please think carefully.

Hi Tak
Thanks for advice.
I have now ordered a pill from women on weves.
The site looked good.
And it costs 70€ it's a donation.
But what I don't understand is that it is much more expensive at a GP in the Netherlands.
I have read amounts of € 500, rara.
Now waiting to see if it is delivered properly.
Greetings Rob
