Dear readers,

A question about dual nationality. My daughter-in-law is Thai and together with my son who is Belgian, we have a two month old daughter. To apply for Thai nationality (i.e. birth certificate in Thailand), the consulate asks for various documents, including an official document from the hospital with its details. But this birth certificate is delivered to the municipality and they then make an official birth certificate.

We can no longer obtain this from the hospital, it is only written out once. Municipality does not keep this. So I have a problem.

Who can give me information about whether or not you need that document. We have the international birth certificate and it has also been legalized by FPS Immigration.

Thanks in advance!

Yours faithfully,

    Noella,

Request a copy of the file from the ombudsman service of the hospital. Mention that it is for the embassy.

    Regards,

    Davey
