Reader question: Who knows a cheese importer in Bangkok or Chiang Mai for larger quantities?
Dear readers,
Does anyone know if there is a cheese importer in Bangkok or Chiang Mai for larger quantities? So not a pound or kilo, I can buy them anywhere in the supermarket. Gouda young, Gouda matured, Edam, etcetera?
I would like to hear from you!
Regards,
Carlo
In pattaya cheese is for sale whole cheeses of 12 kilos
Do you have an address/website/phone number?
Dear Carlo, I would ask a Dutch cheese farmer or wholesaler whether they also export cheese, Google it. When ordering, the stipulation includes transport costs, so delivered free of charge in Thailand.
Peter
Franco house you will not succeed – you can probably pay the import duties yourself……….
Dear Carlo,
I know a Dutchman who imports large quantities of cheese to Thailand.
I would say contact the man:
Riny Veerman
Tel: 08-90387816
Greetings and Success.
Your best option in Chiang Mai is the Makro on the 107 in Mae Rim or Makro on the 11 at Big C or the Makro on the 118 just over the intersection with the 3029 ri Hang Dong. After all, Makro is SHV!
Freddie, if there are cheeses of 12 kilos for sale, it would be nice if you mentioned where they are for sale. Haven't seen them larger than 4.5 kilos in Pattaya, but an address is more than welcome.
MAKRO was SHV, was taken over by METRO Germany years ago, METRO also owns
MEDIA MARKET. I don't like Riny Veerman's cheeses. factory cheeses. Visited him once
bought. It is best to buy from cheese farms, they have the tastiest cheese. The Dutch cheeses
at the MAKRO here in Thailand are not from the Netherlands at all. The Edam cheese comes from Denmark
van Emborg and the Gouda cheeses from Grand d'OR come from Germany. Coincidentally, they land all the way
can't make good cheese. And the Dutch cheese that you can get at supermarkets are from
Figro or Fugro, also worthless. TOPS sometimes has good Dutch cheese, such as Maasdam.
Maybe I can find a good cheese farm, Carlo. My email address is :
[email protected] . I will immediately become your customer.
Unfortunately, there is no arguing about taste, it would not be the first time that Aldi cheeses score the highest in terms of taste and quality, and these are absolutely not cheeses from the cheese farm.
They also regularly have cheese from Maasland at the Makro
Frico cheese from Holland is also available here, but sometimes at the Big C for 1200 Baht per kilo.
According to the label, Emborg's cheeses come from New Zealand.
If there is a product from Holland on it, it MUST also come from HOLLAND and not from Germany or Denmark..
Makro was indeed SHV, but was taken over in Thailand by the Thai company CP All, owner of the 7-11 chain, among others.
According to me, Jan from the Sunshine Bar in CM also lived young in Frico.
4xx baht/kilo
But maybe other forum members or Jan himself can confirm here?
In Den Bosch there is a very good cheese merchant who ships cheese worldwide. Go to [email protected]; Specialist in high quality farmhouse cheeses and Dutch cheeses. We regularly order without any problems, the prices are very attractive, especially for the Asian market.

Dear Carlo,
I import cheese to Thailand, but it's not that easy.
The cheeses are original Gouda cheeses with the stamp and number that only the real Gouda cheese has.
The name Gouda cheese is not protected, so there is cheese for sale with this name that has nothing to do with the real Gouda cheese.
It's not much use to post a stupid story about the Makro, and in Thailand sending 500 grams of cheese with a domestic flight or bus is also madness.
You will also have to order farmer's cheese through a cheese wholesaler, there is no farm that will or can export to Thailand.
Large quantities only go through the Thai inspection service and then the import duties and VAT are between 2000 and 3000 baht for a cheese of 12 to 13 kg, add the purchase of the cheese and about 50 euros for shipping costs. a piece of cheese will be very expensive.
give me a call.
Greetings Realist
As I understand you are looking for a cheese importer, it is best to contact the Dutch Embassy and ask for the trade attache of the Embassy, who can provide you with all information in this area if desired.
good luck Pascal
It is actually a pity that there are often people who respond once and then never say anything again.
They write that cheeses of 12 kilos are for sale in Pattaya and if you ask for an address they no longer answer.
Or they write that they import cheese themselves and then as the last line that you only have to call them once . While that is not easy when they write under a realistic name and then do not mention a number .
This while Thailand blog should actually be an informative blog where we as fellow countrymen can learn something from each other. Unfortunately !!
If you are looking for a cheese importer in Thailand and you read that there are cheeses for sale in Pattaya of 12 Kg, the people who are interested could also provide their own telephone number or e-mail address.
Neither Carlo nor Henk do that, both are anonymous.
I posted some information under pseudonym Realist and wrote under it call me that's right and I shouldn't have done that.
But if Carlo or Henk are really interested in buying cheese, please also mention how you can be reached.
Thailandblog is not to blame, there are 1001 reasons not to provide contact information.
realist
Bought a quarter of matured Gouda cheese from Holland 2 weeks ago, at the Foodland of Terminal 21 in Korat, is open 24 hours located in the main street of Nakhon Ratchasima past the big Mall and the main entrance is if you missed it 2 x left on the partere.
