At which color ATM in Phuket?
Dear readers,
I'm going to Phuket next week and my question was at which color ATM can I withdraw money the cheapest?
Is it best to pin at Phuket airport or just in Patong Beach?
Regards,
Ray
If you download the Thai Baht Exchange app and choose Compare Rates, you will see the rates of the most used banks, with the date and time when they were updated.
Hello Ray,
ATM money in Thailand costs money, the best and cheapest is to exchange at Super rich. Don't forget to bring your passport!
Well, he will have his passport with um, don't you think? But I've never succeeded in exchanging cash with super rich with my passport, this is a tent and yes that costs money.
Piet, I understand Henry's explanation; don't debit but exchange cash.
Again I don't understand your explanation.
Dear, I had the same problem and could not withdraw 20.000 thb from an ATM in Kanchanaburi River Kwai until I noticed that this was possible at Kasikorn Thai. Kasikorn Thai is the former Thai Farmers Bank Siakorn Thai Bank where I once had an account. You know that logo with those green leaves on the left and right on a white background. Now I don't know if that is also possible at the other large banks, but in January ll. it was possible in Kanchanaburi. I would say try every ATM of a major bank until you find one where you can withdraw 20.000 thb so that you only have to pay that damn 220 thb once!
They all charge that 220 or 240 THB (or whatever it is nowadays), so at 6 € as an extra cost, the exchange rate can differ fractions per bank, but that is negligible. IF you really want to choose this way, then you get the best out of it (usually around 18.000THB, just under 500€, which most NL banks have as MAX).
It can be cheaper to carry cash, change very limited things at the airport and the rest in an exchange office, there are plenty of ASEANs there so they must be there too.
Only AEON (purple, but there are more purple banks!!) is lower with that, I think 150, have no idea if they have anything at all in HKT. AEON can never be found at an airport or the like, only in/near their own stores.
In any case, do not pin at such a small booth, but at an ATM at a bank during opening hours. Otherwise, it will be very difficult in Thailand in the event of a malfunction or an empty machine.
Please no idiotic comments, which I unfortunately read more and more often on Thailandblog. This is own experience !!
Hello no matter,
Thank you for your answer, so if I understand it correctly, changing money is cheap and if I still want to use a debit card, then go to Æon if they have it in Phuket.
Gr Ray
Good evening thank you for your reply.
So if I understand you correctly, it is best to bring cash and exchange it there.
But if I still want to use a debit card, it is best at Æon. If it's in Phuket.
Gr Ray
Aeon ATM Baht 150-. Can be found in all Tesco-Lotus.
best Ray
I don't know how long you'll stay
you can in patong at many exchange offices
exchange euros then you have no pin costs.
on the street along the beach there are plenty.
good luck gerry
AEON is by far the cheapest, but only have a limited number of ATMKRel
ATM exchange rate was 33,45 Baht/Euro in BKK on Saturday. Cash was worth 35,10 in BKK.
In Pattaya today the best rate is 35,8O in some exchange stalls. Those who don't ask for a passport give the best rate.
Cheapest ATM cash withdrawal on Phuket is the AEON ATM machines, present on Central Phuket on the banking gallery and at Big C, 1st floor near the roller coaster. This Big C is located near Central.
Costs 150 Baht, reasonable exchange rate depending on the Euro exchange rate around 18.000 Baht.
But cheapest remains cash exchange eg at Super Rich or exchange offices watch the exchange rate!
Be careful scamming can sometimes occur!!!
NEVER exchange money at airports and I do not recommend ATM withdrawals there, probably also a bad exchange rate.
At KNAB you can set a high recording ceiling. KNAB also charges the lowest costs and exchange rate surcharge! His TMB can withdraw you 30000 baht at a cost of 220 baht. I think that combo is the best.
I don't know how long you are going, but for a week or 2 holiday it really doesn't matter that much. Go to the machine at the office during opening hours. (and withdraw the maximum amount to pay transaction costs only once) Have a nice holiday.
