Can anyone tell me about the possibilities of Trat airport?
Dear readers,
I'm planning my next trip to Thailand in January, and February '24. My plan is to visit 3 beautiful islands, namely Koh Lanta, Koh Samui and Koh Chang. The last of the three is a bit away from the other two.
I am no longer the youngest and dread long journeys, so my plan is to fly to Trat, which is close to Koh Chang on the mainland. However, so far I don't see much publicity about this airport and its possibilities. Can anyone tell me about the possibilities of Trat airport?
For example, can I fly directly from Krabi or Surat Thani to Trat? That would help me enormously and save time and be less tiring. Or do I always have to go via Bangkok?
I am very curious about your reactions.
Regards,
Tony,

From Trat, Bangkok Airways only flies to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi.
From Krabi you can fly to Koh Samui and to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang
Hi Tonny, you can fly directly from both Krabi and Surat Thani to Trat with Bangkok Airways.
Count about 100 euros one way.
Bangkok Airways has the monopoly on Trat Airport, hence the higher price for a ticket.
Be sure to book an early flight to Trat because of the crossing by boat.
Good luck and have a good holiday.
Greetings Jeroen
Trat is only served by Bangkok Airways. You can book your flight from Samui to Trat, with a stopover in Bkk. Take a look at the Bkk Airways website. https://www.bangkokair.com/
Success…
According to the Trat airport website, there are only flights to Bangkok.

Here you will find the routes that BKKairways flies.
Hi,
When I look at the Trat airport website, it is a private airport owner, Bangkok Airways. And the only flights are from Bangkok to Trat and vice versa. https://tratairportguide.com/ Success.
Thank you Wibar, completely clear.
I have flown many times from Bkk to Trat. When you arrive in Trat you can be taken from the airport to the boat in a small bus. Bkk Trat about 45 minutes, boat to Kho Chang 1 hour crossing,
I remember that in the past there were flights directly between Trat - Samui.
But that was only twice a week in high season.
Regards,
jos k.
